Half of the Quilt(Youth Edition) is based on the movie Heart for Heart (produced by Xiaoxiang Film Group and directed by Meng Qi). In October 1934, the fifth anti-encirclement failed, the Central Red Army evacuated the Soviet Union and began the Long March. The Red Army field hospital was bombed by enemy planes and suffered heavy casualties. Dong Xiuyun, a female soldier who stayed at the field hospital to look after the wounded, decided to take the wounded with her and chase the troops. Dong Xiuyun took in the soldiers of the various units who were left alone along the road, forming a special team. After the team came to Shazhou Village, the three female Red Army lived in Xu Xiexiu's house. When parting, Dong Xiuyun cut the only one quilt in half to Xu Xiexiu. This book nourishes the young people's spiritual world with red culture, inherits the red gene, and allows the spirit of the Long March to be passed on from generation to generation among children.

This is not an attempt at a sweeping global overview of Leftist cultures either, but a collection that brings together culture-specific and comparative perspectives. This book searches for fragments of and on the Left, past and present, through which to rethink and patch a fragmented world.

Heavenly Girl (Tian Nü) is based on a legendary story in The Classic of Mountains and Seas·Da Huang Bei Jing as a starting point. It describes the difficult journey of the Nü Ba out of the desert to find her identity after having exhausted her powers in aid to her father Huang Di at the war with Chi You. She became the Drought Godness then as drought emerged wherever she went. With the first-person narrative, the main body of the story describes the loneliness and the curiosity of the life of the goddess with her destructive ability. At the same time, the narratives about the protagonist from different persons are presented, offering a different perspective. The work is immense, exquisite in structure, full of characters and strong in originality and artistry.
This book brings together recent findings from quantitative and qualitative research from across Africa to illuminate how young men and women engage with the rural economy, imagine their futures and how development policies and interventions find traction (or not) with these realities. It draws from existing literature and new analysis arising from several multi-country and multi-disciplinary studies, focusing on gender and other aspects of social difference.
