China South Publishing & Media Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “CNS”) , founded on December 25 in 2008, is one of the largest publishing and media listed company(stock code 601098) in China. 

 

The business scope of CNS covers multiple fields including books, newspapers, periodicals, audio and video products, electronics, network, comic and animation, mobile phone media, framework media, etc. Its business integrates edition, printing and distribution, and forms a typical multi-media, full-process and large comprehensive publishing and media group, with books, spreading media, mutual broadcasting media, printing, distribution and investment as its six pillar business segments.

 

CNS boasts 26 wholly owned subsidiaries, including 9 publishing houses and 2 contents planning companies. 

 

With a group of famous book brands created, CNS has maintained the leading position in domestic market of general books, among which includes pop science, literature, psychology and inspiring, classics, music, essay writing, economics and management, art collection and other categories.

 

CNS has been following the international publication trends closely, capturing publication information responsively and has successfully bought the simplified Chinese copyrights of many excellent foreign books. For example, popular pop science books A Brief History of Time, The Grand Design, Seven Brief Lessons in Physics; highly recognized music books Authoritative Piano Music Series (bought from Naxos) and 29 volumes of The New Grove’s Dictionary of Music and Musicians (Oxford version); authoritative art theory books Gardner’s Art Through the Ages and Janson’s History of Art; picture books for children The Frog Books of Velthuijs, and The young Children’s Encyclopedia; psychology and inspiring books Rip it up and The Secret. Each of these books was sold over million copies and exerted extraordinary influence on domestic market.
