        Nombres propios (Proper nouns)

        by Mercedes Alvarado

In the face of uncertainty, we have lost the right to mourn; in the face of this, perhaps all that remains is to search, to ask, to name. This is a book that puts memory in the foreground, a recognition of the collective mourning that runs through us. Nombres propios is an approach to the legitimate and loving resistance that sustains the living victims of violence in Mexico. As Natalia Mendoza notes in the prologue: Alvarado's verses point to the concrete mechanism that could inaugurate a new time.

        Prueba olímpica (Olympic Trial)

        by Lorena Huitrón

"Prueba olímpica" test demystifies what is in front of him. Here prose poems are explored, there are verses that become epigraphs of a following poem, obsessions that open a process that can be endless, wounds that discover, themselves, that it makes sense to mock their existence. Lorena has a natural force that disturbs those who read her, like that bird that murmurs near our ear. This book is inserted in the tradition to modify it.

        Nadadores

by María José Ferrada, Mariana Alcántara

There might be many swimmers for sure who, after training so much during the day (“50 meters of Front Crawl, 50 meters of Back and 50 meters of Butterfly”) at night they dream about being fish. But during those same nights, when the moon illuminates the oceans, will fish dream about being swimmers? The authors of this book use humor and poetry to show us that a page can be a deep sea or an Olympic-size swimming pool, depending on the eyes with which it is looked at.

        SELK'NAM

        GENOCIDIO Y RESISTENCIA

        by JOSÉ LUIS ALONSO MERCHAN

On a trip to Argentina, the author learned the fascinating but violent history of Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego. Among all the legendary Selk'nam people emerge, whose history sinks in the dawn of time. in the late 19th century the Selk'nam suffered the violent impact of colonization. In this specific case, it took on the characteristics of a terrible genocide suffered by men, women and children, when the large cattle ranchers invaded their lands with thousands and thousands of sheep. Now, at present, the Selk'nam people are carrying out a historical process of social and cultural mobilization, which corresponds to a growing role of indigenous communities, both in Chilean and Argentine society. We must banish once and for all the words extinction, extermination or disappearance from our language and instead demand that the authorities respect the rights of native peoples, their territories, their customs and their language. The Selk'nam exist and are alive.
