View Rights PortalGood books are like meek animals that stretch when we caress their backs, and that show us their bellies so we go and play with them; but they also do not hesitate to give us a good bite to free us from the claws of routine. To create these noble creatures, in Cataplum we dig like moles through the collective memory and explore the roots that connect us as Latin-Americans; thus, we recover our oral tradition, our playful language and its diverse and endless possibilities. As truffle-seeking pigs, we have developed an acute nose to find texts of authors from past and actual times. As rabbits we jump here and there tracking down illustrators with new proposals. And as eagles we strive to see, from a distance, how image and texts can coexist in harmony. In sum, our catalogue has been conceived as a living creature; one that begun as something very little, like bear cubs, but capable of becoming a fabulous living being; one that combines the best qualities of noble animals and have the power to captivate us.

“Cat” tells the story of editors, writers, poets, painters and other characters in the literary circle. There are editorial department, pen meeting, group draft, and writers’ emotional entanglements. With a profound metaphorical approach, through special literary narratives and humanity observations, the writer jumped out of the world to see the world's sharpness and calmness with the recording of cat's eyes. The ancient cats are metaphors of modernity, and the literary story code at the end of a century. A vain, wandering and shining performance, a kind of chaos of illusion and reality, life and death. An editor-in-chief named "Feng Niang" and a deputy editor-in-chief called "Old Deng" were intentionally or unintentionally involved in the whirlpool of the literary world. These emotional, ideal, earthly, spiritual, and life vortexes are mixed in literature.

A kitten born with spots on her head resembling the seven stars of the Big Dipper is named Ah Dou by her owner. She grows from a pet to a warrior who fights dogs and snakes, but because of the nature of cats to act on their own, she is mistakenly injured by a poacher's trap in the forest, far from the cottage. In order to avoid becoming a meal for the big dogs, she bit off one of the trapped legs and escaped with her life. Because of the pain of the villagers to heal her wound, he misunderstood the villagers and escaped into the jungle, where he became a wild beast in the fight with the falcons, weasels, red jackals and other predators. However, she still lives on, until she becomes a mother.
“Himpar editores inaugurates its poetry collection with the new book by María Paz Guerrero, one of the most audacious voices of contemporary Colombian poetry. This book is no exception to Guerrero's quests: it is experimental, full of heartbreaking humor and combines the exploration of the animal with popular speech and the materiality of flesh and language. María Paz Guerrero's third collection of poems is inhabited by a series of characters: a blind cat that hits herself against everything she comes across; bodies that undergo medical examinations to measure the progress of the disease in their organs; legs that can barely hold on until they collapse; a language that unravels like a kite's pita; repetitions and verses crossed and transformed by songs by Héctor Lavoe, Henry Fiol and Simón Díaz. The structure of the book is also novel. It has a unity that is configured from the repetitions of characters and verses that reappear slightly transformed, each time. It differs from books that gather a multitude of singular poems. For its part, the language seems very simple, almost spoken, with a strange syntax, cut, broken. It is a bet on a musical poetry with some raw images, which differentiates it from the metaphorical poetry of abstract images.”

The second volume of this highly collectable series, covering the pivotal years of 1969-70. The Island Book of Records Volume II documents the years 1969-70, during which Island sought to build on its success with the Spencer Davis Group by seeking out new British rock talent. Featuring material from recent interviews and from media interviews of the time, and including a comprehensive discography of 45s, The Island Book of Records Volume II is lavishly illustrated with gig adverts (very many at venues that no longer exist), concert tickets, flyers, international LP variants, labels, LP and 45 adverts and other ephemera collector's dream.
