The first optimistic book and the first childrens comic book by the acclaimed (and grumpy) cartoonist and script writer Allan Sieber. The story was written with the help of Allan's son Max, now 10 years old. Winner of the PROAC publication prize 2022.
Author Biography
Allan Sieber (Porto Alegre, 1972) is one of Brazil's best-known pop visual artists. He is a painter, cartoonist, animator and scriptwriter, with several illustrations and cartoons published in magazines, books and newspapers; also painting in canvases, newspapers, cardboard; with works for the big cinema screens to the small TV screens, in programs with topics as varied as they are fun. From 1999 to 2014 he maintained Toscographics Animated Cartoons, a studio based in Rio de Janeiro. From 2005 to 2017 he published the comic strips “Preto no Branco” and “Bifaland, a damned city” in newspaper Folha de S. Paulo. His production is prolific, including as a scriptwriter for famous TV programs such as "Tá no Ar", "Amor & Sexo", "Casseta vai caso" and as a recurring contributor to publications such as Playboy, Sexy, Piauí and Le Monde Diplomatique Brasil. The comic artist has already exhibited his work in Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Portugal and France. “As Sete Vidas do Gato Jouralbo” is his first children’s publication.
