WERE THERE LIMITS IF SO I CROSSED THEM BUT IT WAS OUT OF LOVE OK? In this uncompromising work of autofiction, the author attempts to reconcile herself to a world that endlessly denies her voice, her femininity and her trauma. Summary Michelle’s life starts in early childhood with unspeakable abuse that will haunt her into adulthood. The narrator suffers from borderline personality disorder, which blurs the line between excessive behaviour and hypersensitivity, revealing a woman furiously attached to the need to love and be loved. The first book by Michelle Lapierre is disarmingly, unsettlingly frank. A rare incursion into the borderline psyche, Were There Limits… features a kaleidoscope of barely bearable scenes and luminous reflections on mental illness, family, romantic relationships—told in breathtakingly beauty prose. *** French sample : https://flipbook.cantook.net/?d=%2F%2Fwww.entrepotnumerique.com%2Fflipbook%2Fpublications%2F111787.js&oid=255&c=&m=&l=&r=&f=pdf See other PDF for English sample.

Clive Gilson's ShadowGrimm series of tales have in various degrees been published in magazines and online over the last seven or eight years, with a number also appearing in short story anthologies in the UK.In his ShadowGrimm world of make-believe Clive first developed his love of traditional story-telling, and has taken a number of established tales from Andersen, the Brothers Grimm, Perrault et al, and twisted them into modern tales of magical realism and fantasy - very much in the tradition of Angela Carter and Frank Baum. This new collection, published for the first time under the name ShadowGrimm, finally brings Clive's many and varied earlier tales together for the very first time.

Three female scientists live on an abandoned factory site, the Owls’ site, and pretend to be homeless. They maintain a number of well-calculated deceptions in order to avoid detection. Only the children cannot be deterred and come to the site to pursue their activities. That is why the researchers need a bogeyman. A student friend, wrestler and now author of children's books, seems suitable. But which secret are they trying to protect? The women observe an extremely rare bird during reproduction and care of the brood. There's a secret about it that will only be revealed at the very end: Its plumage is like a magic hood. How this works would of course be highly interesting for the weapons industry, hence the strict secrecy. External threats must be warded off and the pitfalls of living together must be mastered.
What if an NPC (non-playable character) dismissed with contempt by the players of your role-playing game was to become an adventurer? Ninetoes is a wizard, which is unusual for a hobgoblin, and more unusual still, he’s no longer an NPC. The world of Adrenon is a game world and a twist of fate has made Ninetoes an Adventurer. With this new status comes access to power, magic and skills that his kind can rarely attain, but more, it is a chance to grow and become the centre of his own story. In his first quest, among the ancient ruins of Kavralach, Ninetoes faces danger and intrigue. Failure will mean the destruction of his home and his people, for whom he now has the potential to become their champion. Ninetoes must master the magic system of the game, advance as rapidly as he can, and find friends. For a wizard alone is vulnerable. If he can prevail, the hobgoblin Adventurer might someday become the hero he needs to be.

The summer before middle school is a time of anxiety and change. A pitch-perfect novel in verse about one girl’s wish to simultaneously break free and to belong. In the summer before her first year of middle school, word-chanting, rope-skipping Phee skips her way to imagined fame, writes down her innermost secret thoughts from the safety of a treehouse, and imagines in horror that her new classmates will eat her alive. Suddenly, her well-worn alley world feels too small. So when Mercy Jones moves next door, along with Mercy’s skateboard and her don’t-mess-with-me attitude, Phee sees the chance for her universe to expand. Even if it means leaving some things behind . . . It is a time of dares, of a legendary dog named Bull, of stretching comfort zones, and of old friendships made over in new ways. And it all takes place over the course of one alley summer. Using pitch-perfect, richly rendered verse, Anne Ylvisaker captures the tone and insights of one girl’s wish to simultaneously break free and to belong.
