Description
David A. Robertson, the son of a Cree father and a white mother, grew up with virtually no knowledge or understanding of his family’s Indigenous roots.
Without his father’s teachings or any knowledge of his life experiences, he has spent a lifetime putting together the pieces of his identity. This is the memoir of his search for understanding, a search that culminates in a father-son journey to the northern trapline where his father was raised. As father and son travel to the past to create a new future, they revive a story nearly erased by the designs of history, reclaiming their connection not only to the land but also to each other.
