Really Great, Heros! (2). What on Earth are we Doing Here?
by Rüdiger Bertram/ Heribert Schulmeyer
Juli can’t wait for the holidays. His cousin Jenny and he can once more go to her uncle’s Superhero Hotel. Maybe the next superhero adventure will be awaiting them there? Indeed it is: the evil Snakeman has created an army of mutated giant rabbits, whose underground tunnels threaten one city after another with complete collapse. And as the real superheroes are still lazing around at the swimming pool, and Bruce suddenly has to go and defend the world against an alien invasion, it’s once more left to Juli and Jenny to prevent this disaster! Armed with nothing more than a cheap pair of X-ray laser glasses with which they can see through walls, doors and even people’s clothes (villains in underpants – not a pretty sight!). And while Juli is still asking “What on earth are we doing here?” he and Jenny find themselves in the middle of a crazy adventure that takes them all round the world – across the desert, through London, and on to Paris! Can Juli and Jenny stop the evil villain and his giant rabbits in time?

Bichosos (Bugsful)
by Manuel Marín
This book is an allegory of flat strokes, whose slopes reveal tridimensional bugs, blissful to show us their transparent shapes. A reading that goes beyond the visual and takes us away from these tiny beings whose geometry increases before our eyes. The line takes us through their folds and extensions, and over to the pages which will be swarming with bugs!

Ein Beitrag zur Theorie des Romans
by Hans Robert Jauß

British culture and the end of empire
by Andrew Thompson, Stuart Ward, John Mackenzie
This book is the first major attempt to examine the cultural manifestations of the demise of imperialism as a social and political ideology in post-war Britain. Far from being a matter of indifference or resigned acceptance as is often suggested, the fall of the British Empire came as a profound shock to the British national imagination, and resonated widely in British popular culture. The sheer range of subjects discussed, from the satire boom of the 1960s to the worlds of sport and the arts, demonstrates how profoundly decolonisation was absorbed into the popular consciousness. Offers an extremely novel and provocative interpretation of post-war British cultural history, and opens up a whole new field of enquiry in the history of decolonisation. ;

Volksstück
by Ödön Horváth, Traugott Krischke, Susanna Foral-Krischke

The Great Deception
How we put our future at risk and sleep through the necessary transformation
by Deutsche Umweltstiftung (ed.)
More and more companies are becoming sustainable. More and more products are being produced sustainably. But things that are called climate-neutral or sustainable today often are not. Then there are the catchy phrases like 'electric mobility belongs to the future' or 'there's enough food on the planet for everyone'. These statements are not true, and are referred to in science as 'frames'. This book provides a guide that enables us to free ourselves from these ecological frames, to see through them. Because only a policy that understands the connections is able to develop perspectives. Numerous experts uncover the biggest lies about the future in this book, refute them and explain what we need to change. Because we can lie to ourselves, but we cannot lie to nature.

Die Transparenz des Geistes
by Wolfgang Barz

The Roots of All Evil
by Paola G. Gasca
A black and white photograph; a little girl; a small town. Dolores and Jacinta are sisters-in-law who cope with parallel grief. Dolores cannot seem to find a place inside her husband’s heart, not a simple life as she is surrounded by children. Jacinta carries the burden and sadness of being unable to get pregnant. It will be Inés, one of Dolores’ daughters, who strikes the balance and determines the destiny, love, and loss path not only of those women, but of the entire town. The Roots of All Evil happens in a town where hate is so deeply grounded, and where stories get tangled up with superstition, and where the roots of both touch each other, to the point where reality is suspended between veils of evil and sheer coincidence.

My Bank Washes Greener
Eco lies told by the finance sector
by Bernd Villhauer
— By the expert in ethical business — Once you have finished this, you will never fall for green financial lies again — Global Ethic Institute (Weltethos- Institut) network And suddenly every bank is sustainable. This truly necessary "debate book" explains in a wellfounded way what green-washing means in the financial sector, and why banks, insurance companies, asset managers, stockbrokers and other financial players clothe themselves in their allegedly so green-and-friendly cloak. It provides an easy-to-understand explanation of the various forms of greenwashing, how we can recognise the different "varieties" and – above all – how we can avoid them. This is also important because the entire financial and capital system is an important part of a sustainable future – and this can only succeed if it is honest, transparent and impact-orientated.

Flower Seeds
Biology and Technology
by Edited by Miller B McDonald, Francis Y Kwong, Frans Bongers, Marc P E Parren, Dossahua Traoré
The floral industry represents a significant proportion of agricultural income in several developed countries, particularly the USA, the Netherlands and Japan. Hitherto the sheer diversity of flower seeds, in their form, function and biology, has hindered the production of a comprehensive treatment of the topic. This book provides a unique and much-needed resource of information on the biology and technology of flower seeds. It presents in-depth information on the history and evolution of the ornamental and wild flower seed industries followed by recommendations for successful breed and production programs. A comprehensive coverage of the biology of flower seeds is considered as well as appropriate technologies associated with germination, vigor and viability testing. In this volume, the first of its kind, international authorities from academia and industry have been brought together to provide a comprehensive reference resource for both practitioners and students of seed science and technology and of ornamental horticulture.

Marine Ecotourism
Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea
by Carl I Cater, Erlet Cater
The planet's most fascinating and yet tantalisingly under-researched component is now a rapidly growing tourism frontier. The sea attracts millions of tourists annually with its diverse array of exclusive activities, but its sheer size brings with it considerable problems for management.Within the context of other economic activities that may compromise the success, if not the very existence of marine ecotourism, this text examines the wide range of marine ecotourism resources, not only natural, but also cultural and man-made. Covering economic, marketing planning and regulation issues, this book also considers the vital role of marine ecotourism in raising awareness of the significance of the seas and oceans to sustainable coastal livelihoods. At a time of great concern over the effects of climate change and high profile issues such as depletion of fish stocks and oil spillages, the insights this book provides are essential reading.

Überwältigende Blüten
by Rosie Sanders, Andreas Honegger
