We present to you a rhino that actually once circled the earth in the spaceship, an artist cat from Paris known by everyone, the adventures, and wanderlust of a tiny house, and love stories kissed by the sun... Curious? If you are looking for children's books with a universal message of hope and connectedness, we'd love the opportunity to meet with you. Inner Flower Child Books is a children's book publisher founded in California in 2012 by the creative team of author Susan Schaefer Bernardo (M.A. English Languages and Literature, Yale University) and illustrator Courtenay Fletcher (BFA Advertising/Graphic Design, Art Center College of Design). These artists and their team produce profound, touching, and humorously inspiring books that have become very successful in the US. With wittiness, humor, and intelligence — with rhymes at times — they create stories that promote children's language and social capabilities development. Partly because of that, Susan’s and Courtenay's picture books are used nationwide by schools, children's charities, therapists, and families across the United States to help children and youth heal from problems, large and small. At a time when the whole world is being hit by the trauma of a pandemic, books such as “Sun Kisses and Moon Hugs” bring children and young people a comforting message of love and connection. The colorfully illustrated and inspiring picture books contain generally assignable topics such as healing trauma, bringing people closer to living a sustainable life, and the power of creative expression — predestined to be successful worldwide. (Speaking of worldwide distribution: one of Susan’s and Courtenay's books, “The Rhino Who Swallowed The Storm” was sent to the International Space Station to orbit the planet — and was read aloud by astronaut Kate Rubins as part of the innovative “Story Time From Space” program and broadcasted! Apart from that, “The Rhino” was also promoted by former, then-incumbent First Lady Michelle Obama and present presidential candidate Joe Biden. For more information, please visit our website!). All Inner Flower Child Books titles are currently only published in the United States. Susan and Courtenay are therefore pleased to be able to offer publication and subsidiary rights on all other world markets for the first time. Indigenous Knowledge (IK) reviews cutting-edge research and links theory with practice to further our understanding of this important approach's contribution to natural resource management. It addresses IK's potential in solving issues such as coping with change, ensuring global food supply for a growing population, reversing environmental degradation and promoting sustainable practices. It is increasingly recognised that IK, which has featured centrally in resource management for millennia, should play a significant part in today's programmes that seek to increase land productivity and food security while ensuring environmental conservation. By drawing together strands of biocultural diversity research into natural resources management, this book: - Provides an overview of conceptual issues around IK and its contributions to sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation; - Addresses key themes via case studies from bioculturally diverse regions of the world; - Displays a wide range of methodologies and outlines a possible agenda to guide future work. An invaluable resource for researchers and postgraduate students in environmental science and natural resources management, this book is also an informative read for development practitioners and undergraduates in agriculture, forestry, geography, anthropology and environmental studies.

        by Florencia Etcheves

Mexico, 1939. Nayeli Cruz is fourteen years old and is facing the same fate as her older sister: being married off to a man she does not know. Like so many women, she has no choice but to leave her home in Tehuantepec for Mexico City, and forge her own path. There she will meet the painter Frida Kahlo and will become not only her cook, but also her right-hand woman.  Argentina, 2018. Paloma’s -Nayeli’s granddaughter- discovers that there is a part of her past her grandmother knows nothing about. When she inherits a painting worth millions of dollars, she suddenly finds her life in danger as a group of swindlers try to steal it. What’s more, one of the criminals appears to be the man she loves.   Strong Women  Nayeli’s story unfolds in a time when women were not taken seriously – when they could not make decisions about their own lives. But the female characters in this tale have drive, and a rebellious nature, allowing them to escape the fate of many.    Emotion and Mystery  A journey full of twists and revelations that brings together the past and the present. As Nayeli’s story unfolds, Paloma’s discoveries are explained, and Paloma herself must fight to stay alive.     A Synergy Between Fact and Fiction  Historical and fictitious events come together to create a unique, captivating narrative. Frida Kahlo’s real experiences are presented through the eyes of Nayeli, who, although she never actually existed, represents many similar women from that era.

        HISTORICAL

by Selection and editing by Marta Mearin and Juan Francisco Bascuñán Illustrations: Joanna Styrylska-Gałażyn

Historical is a journey through the lives of 15 women who made history, based on illustrations of them by Polish artist Joanna Styrylska-Gałażyn. These graphic representations are accompanied by texts of diverse literary genres, written especially for this edition by young writers of different nationalities: Chilean, Latin American, Catalan. For each character, a brief biography and a text is included that seeks to connect the reader to the woman being honored, mixing real information with fictitious events: some occur in the future, others explore the most intimate dimension of the protagonist or personify her through poetry. The illustrations and stories that make up this book seek to make visible the importance of women in the immense number of areas from which they have been systematically excluded: science, art, technology, sports, activism and academia, among others. In this way, the book concentrates different aspects of feminist struggles capable of transcending time and space.

A trip through Italy thanks to football

        by Toni Padilla

This trip through Italy is not intended to arrive as soon as possible. The guide is Toni Padilla, who, accompanied by a ball, and based on themes such as death, music, cheese or stickers, is impregnated with the country's double soul. Here are the majestic Italy and the Italy massacred by prejudices, lying on this journey from north to south and from east to west. The raw material of the stories, which are only on the author's radar, are the walks through the homeland of Benito Mussolini, Rafaella Carrà or Francesco Totti. Its pages are a map where memories are celebrated and goals are savored. Written with detailed prose and a leisurely gaze, they seem from another era, now that we don't have time for everything. But calcium is in no rush to get off this train.
