Lana Del Rey: Her Life in 94 Songs: the Early Classics

        by F.A Mannan

Covers Young Like Me / Rock Me Stable, From The End, Sirens, Lana Del Ray (including Kill Kill EP) Born To Die, Paradise, Ultraviolence, Honeymoon and more. The controversial artist Lana Del Rey seemed to appear fully-formed with her melancholy viral hit 'Video Games' - but the story started long before. She had written and performed for many years under many names with no fanfare. Each time she changed her name, she was drawn inexorably closer to the finished product - a synthesis of real life and fantasy - that we see now. In this anatomy, F.A. Mannan considers everything that has gone into the equation: the music, poetry and films but also the places and experiences that allow the songs to communicate despite the media circus around them. The guide considers the strange way the music industry and press operate today, and the feedback loop between these mechanical business processes and the creative act. The tense gender politics and the blurry notions of authenticity that jut awkwardly into Del Rey's faintly otherworldly image are all given due consideration. This is the definitive treatment of Lana Del Rey's work to date.

by Amitav Bhattacharya & Debashis Roy

Today, nutraceuticals have been recognized as any natural product, food or dietary supplement that provides medical or health benefits including the prevention of diseases. Keeping these aspects in view, the book covers different types of Nutraceuticals used in livestock and poultry, their role, mode of application, advantages and disadvantages if any. In 1, the concepts of feeding nutraceuticals have been discussed and classified into several groups. 2 presents feeding of antibiotics to poultry and livestock species and how it has been gradually replaced by different feed additives preferentially called as nutraceuticals. 3 to 8 deals with different nutraceuticals often fed to poultry and livestock like probiotics, prebiotics, enzymes, organic acids, fatty acids and phytobiotics. The chapters introduce and classify the corresponding nutraceutical agents and then present a detail discussion on its efficacy as a feed ingredient, mode of action, specific rate of inclusion in the diet.

        by Friedrich Radlspäck

Intellectual Property Rights and Public Policy

        by Zafar Mahfooz Nomani

The book Intellectual Property Rights & Public Policy is rooted in the fact that creativity and innovation have been hall mark of knowledge economy. However despite there is an abundance of innovative energies flowing in India a conducive ecosystem to access to education, knowledge and health is far from reality. Being TRIPS compliant country, the equitable and dynamic IP regime with full potential of harnessing intellectual property for Indias economic growth, socio-cultural development and promotion of public interest are distant goalposts. The pronouncement of National IPR Policy spelt out the public policy orientation but the need to create robust IP environment as stunning controversy thats spinning out of control needs to hardly emphasized. The book is an erudite compilation of renowned scholars in the field of intellectual property having implication of moulding public policy discourse in intellectual property law. The contributors of the volumes luminates grey areas of research by drawing diverse perspectives from academicians, judges and IP practitioners. The range of papers diverse from jurisprudence of intellectual property to cyber law, human right, access to food and medicine, biotechnology and law. The book investigates prospects as well as the challenges by encompassing theoretical and juridical dimensions in Indian socio-legal context. The consequences of IP institutional failures are unimaginable and pragmatic ending is unthinkable for any vibrant nation like India. The book is never before seen revelations and leading to a single impossible and inconceivable truth of being panacea for plagued public policy diametric but definitely an incredible collection in auguring healthy polemics of knowledge management. To lend appropriate credence to the subject the working of IP Laws and institutions is undertaken to hone out the strategy of IP Law reform in public policy paradigm in India. The outputs of the compilation can capture the attention of not merely legal academics, policy makers, and legal profession but also to IP practitioners, development planner and innovation activists.

It is a well known fact that each of the components of the course namely, livestock economics, marketing, entrepreneurship, business management and accountancy, forms an independent and separate study by itself. The libraries in the agricultural universities and veterinary universities are also not very much equipped with more number of books in these subjects. The book makes the task of teaching and learning easier, as all information on various topics connected to livestock economics, marketing, entrepreneurship, business management and accountancy in the form of a handbook, which will serve the needs of the teachers and students who are involved in this course work. The narration is done in a very simple way without complicating the information, presented with many graphs and mathematical expressions. This book would also benefit veterinary professionals and extension officers who are involved in promoting livestock entrepreneurship activities.

Plant Growth Responses for Smart Agriculture Prospects and Applications

        by T. Girija,Nandini K. & Parvathi, M.S.

Plant Physiology is a dynamic science which goes on adding knowledge to already characterized basic processes in plants. The past decade has witnessed an unprecedented progress in biological sciences with the advent of innovative technologiesviz. recombinant DNA techniques, omics approaches and advanced phenotyping platforms. These tools have helped to redefine many of the already accepted facts of plant life. The present publication will give an insight into the lesser known signals that can influence plant growth and development. Knowledge of plant physiological processes provides the base for research in cognate disciplines such as crop improvement, crop production and crop protection. With the impetus for clean cultivation, information provided in the book can motivate researchers in developing environment-friendly and non-chemical means of improving crop production and activate the innate ability of the plant to enhance their field performance.
