Overview

Konkursbuch Verlag Claudia Gehrke (founded in 1978) has been involved in various niches for four decades. A program that makes the boundaries between image and word, different literary genres, and between ‚high art‘ and erotica more permeable. ‚General fiction‘: the publisher's best-known author is Yoko Tawada (e.g. Kleist-Preis, Carl-Zuckmayer-Medaille). Thrillers: the publisher's best-known thriller author is Regina Nössler, who has been writing novels unflinchingly for many years (Deutscher Krimipreis, Stuttgarter Krimipreis, on the best crime fiction lists of Deutschlandfunk and F.A.Z.). Queer: Suzana Tratnik, Slovenia. Erotic and love life: best known the annuals „My Secret Eye“ (multisexual; a reviewer once wrote: „Konkursbuch Verlag was ‚queer‘ before the word was even used in Germany.“), „My Lesbian Eye“, „My Gay Eye“. Novel series „Liebesleben", photo books, and the cultural yearbook „Konkursbuch". Travel literature: novels and stories in translation, as well as bilingual travel reading books and special travel guides to the Canary Islands, literature from Korea; Japan.
