Description
An unbearably hot summer in Berlin. People are starting to get irritated.
Isabel Keppler lives in her basement apartment on Katzbachstraße in Kreuzberg. The temperatures are tolerable there. In return for her silence, she received money from Matthias Baumann two years earlier. In the meantime she has spent it. She wants replenishment. And ignores the fact that blackmail usually goes wrong.
At the same time, her new colleague Oliver really wants to get to know her. Oliver has a different kind of financial problem. He is living beyond his means and has debts that he is repressing. His creditor also stalks him at work. Oliver feels superior to others and is easily offended. He becomes increasingly angry with Isabel because she ignores him despite his best efforts. Antonia, who is new to Berlin, wants to leave her unpleasant past behind in another city. She becomes friends with Isabel and Oliver. A secret connects her with Oliver, she fears that he will find out, but thinks that Oliver is a rather strange but harmless guy. Oliver has his own ideas about reality, which differ greatly from those of others. In proportion to the temperatures, he becomes more and more angry. It seethes in him. He doesn't want to be treated like that.
And even before this summer comes to an end, the situation comes to a head – for everyone involved.

Author Biography
Regina Nössler grew up in Frankfurt and in the Ruhr area, studied German, theatre, film and television studies and lives as a freelance author and editor in Berlin. Awards including the German Crime Prize, Stuttgart Crime Prize. In her novels and thrillers she deals with the paradoxes of everyday human life and socio-political issues from the perspective of individuals. In her thrillers, it is not the investigators that are the focus; sometimes they hardly show up at all. She writes ‚standalones‘: Every thriller has different characters, a different theme, always close to social reality.
