Every story describes a wish that Tyler makes, the steps he takes to obtain it, and the reason why he gladly grants it to a dear one. In "Tyler's Promised Gift" Tyler works hard to obey his mother's commands in anticipation of receiving his promised 'little red car". At his birthday party he offers the car to a younger, sad, and crying guest. In "Tyler's Baby Sister" Tyler tries to get his mother to focus her attention again on him instead of on his baby sister, Tia. Tyler finally realizes that helping his mother to give more care to Tia gave him the most satisfaction. In "Tyler's Acting Practice" Tyler spends hours perfecting his aim when using a slingshot. When he was finally ready to play the part of David in the school play "David and Goliath", he noticed that his friend Joel, who was new to the school this year, was being bullied and excluded from all games because he was missing the net whenever he tried to shoot a basketball. Heroically, Tyler offers the role of David to Joel when he learns that Joel excels at aiming pebbles with his slingshot. His plan to reverse the students' disrespect towards Joel succeeded when everyone in the school auditorium cheered Joel for his perfect aim at the helmet of Goliath. In "Tyler's Lunchbox Treat", Tyler could hardly wait for lunch break to bite into the krispy marshmallow treat his mother had baked for him. When Tyler discovers that the sandwich of his lunch companion was missing, and that he couldn't share his peanut butter sandwich with him because his companion was allergic to peanuts, Tyler gives him his krispy marshmallow square. Tyler always feels like a winner at the end, and not at all a loser. Children and parents are happy to arrive at the ending of each story.

Jill Marshall is the author of the popular middle-grade series about Sensational Spylet, Jane Blonde, and many other titles and series for tweens, teens, YA and adult. Jill’s books have been published by Macmillan Children’s Books, Penguin and Hachette, in 22 countries, 11 languages and paperback, ebook and audio formats. Jane Blonde has been optioned for film and TV, with significant film interest in other Jill Marshall titles. Jill has also been an editor and manuscript assessor for trade publishers and societies, a creative writing teacher for over 1000 clients, and works in corporate communications. During lockdown in 2020, and with all rights for all titles successfully re-acquired, Marshall fulfilled two long-term ambitions. The first – to create an independent publishing house of her own titles, rebranded and re-imagined for a digital world. The second – to pull together Jane Blonde and three other ‘superhero’ characters, all with their own origin series, into an ensemble series, S*W*A*G*G (swaggbooks.com). The third ambition was one that she couldn’t have foreseen: the wish to provide quality fiction for tween readers and upwards, in readily accessible digital formats and for free, in a world ravaged by a global pandemic. In May 2020, Jill Marshall Books was born, and all three ambitions met. JMB has gathered momentum and fandom during those months, and it’s now time to partner with like-minded book people – innovative, passionate, caring – to extend the reach of JMB titles across formats, locations and media. The publishing house Königshausen & Neumann was founded in 1979 by the students Johannes Königshausen and Thomas Neumann and has quickly developed into a well-known publishing house for the Humanities in a national and international context. Today we have a backlist of more than 7,000 available (!) titles, with a focus on philosophy, literature and cultural studies, history, psychology, music and art. Our aim is to accompany developments in science with publications and to make developments in science visible and accessible as such in the first place. We want to be an echo chamber not of one thought, but of a plurality of thoughts. Wittgenstein's followers, for example, are represented in our programme, as are his critics. Artists are brought into conversation in a unique way: Richard Wagner or Francisco de Goya, for example.
