She writes fiction that includes a diverse cast of characters with themes that deal with real-world issues and sometimes have a light sci-fi or paranormal feel to them. Her favorite age group falls within the New Adult range but her works appeal to the older YA and adult reader as well. Melanie would like to find representation as well as negotiate domestic and foreign print, digital and audio rights/licensing on her current published works and her upcoming projects. Melanie S. Wolfe grew up between Kansas City, MO, and various places in Oklahoma (USA) where she studied Liberal Arts at the University of Oklahoma. She was a military wife for ten years and served the Army community as a Relocation Clerk while stationed in Bamberg, Germany. A memoir and autobiography of Ukrainian mathematician Leonid Pliushch (1939-2015), one of the most famous dissidents of the USSR. It was first published in the West in 1979 in five languages (Russian, French, English, Italian and Ukrainian) and it belongs to the "treasury" of anti-totalitarian resistance literature. Analyzing his life path from his postwar childhood to the Dnipropetrovsk psychiatric prison, where he was thrown with the beginning of repressions in 1972, Leonid Pliushch creates an invaluable panoramic portrait of the generation of "sixties", which was given a chance to free their mind from authoritarianism. The text is presented in the author's edition of 2002 with appendices and foreword by Oksana Zabuzhko.

Als er bei seinen Ermittlungen durch Zufall in einen Mord verwickelt wird, hat er dann aber doch ganz andere Sorgen Leonid McGills Familie ist alles andere als harmonisch: Seine Frau Kathrina liebt er nicht, zwei von drei Kindern sind nicht von ihm, und sein einziger leiblicher Sohn haßt ihn. Doch Harmonie ist ohnehin Leonids Sache nicht. Dafür hat er sich früher zu oft und zu lange mit den falschen Leuten eingelassen. Einer von ihnen ist Alphonse Rinaldo, der Mann, der in New York die Strippen zieht. Und auch wenn man besser vermeiden sollte, einen Auftrag von Rinaldo anzunehmen, ist es genauso wenig ratsam, einen solchen auszuschlagen. Leonid macht sich also auf die Suche nach der Frau, die dem Strippenzieher Sorgen bereitet. Und prompt findet er sich als Hauptverdächtiger in einem Mordfall wieder.

Doch auch wenn Amerika im Wandel ist und ein schwarzer Präsident das Land regiert – für einen wie McGill ist es nicht leicht, von der schiefen Bahn abzukommen, denn seine Vergangenheit holt ihn immer wieder ein.

Early in the twentieth century, Russia was experiencing a decadent period of cultural degeneration just as science was developing ways to identify medical conditions which supposedly reflected the health of the entire nation. Leonid Andreev, the leading literary figure of his time, stepped into the breach of this scientific discourse with literary works about degenerates. The spirited social debates on mental illness, morality and sexual deviance which resulted from these works became part of the ongoing battle over the definition and depiction of the irrational, complicated by Andreev's own publicised bouts with neurasthenia. This book examines the concept of pathology in Russia, the influence of European medical discourse, the development of Russian psychiatry, and the role that it had in popular culture, by investigating the life and works of Andreev. It engages the emergence of psychiatry and the role that art played in the development of this objective science.
