Description
Hryhorii Skovoroda's fables are philosophical miniatures, reflections on congenial work, fulfilling one's vocation, happiness, and gratitude. While these elements should fill the life of a wise person and are worthy of reflection, these Fables are, first and foremost, good and funny stories about animals enjoyable for readers of all ages. Skovoroda's fables will teach young readers important lessons, including:
- Not limiting oneself to the exteriority of things but also focusing on their inner essence.
- Pursuing activities that fulfill one's vocation.
- Avoiding deception of others.
- Recognizing the value of time.
The fables were arranged and adapted for children by one of the foremost experts on Skovoroda's works, Leonid Ushkalov.

Author Biography
Hryhoriy Skovoroda was a philosopher of Ukrainian Cossack origin, a poet, teacher, and composer of liturgical music. He led the tormented life of an itinerant thinker due to clashes with both secular and spiritual powers.
Leonid Ushkalov, PhD, was a literary critic, writer (including children's books), and author of numerous academic studies on the history of Ukrainian literature, philosophy and theology.
Inokenty Korshunov graduated from the Odessa School of Art. His works in sculpture, painting, drawing, book illustration and digital arts are influenced by his love of the Renaissance as well as his interest in an endless variety of multifaceted artistic expression. His paintings feature in private collections around the world.
