Solisluna
Attentive to ethnic appeal and modeled on the diverse Brazilian identity, Solisluna, located in the State of Bahia, where Brazil began, started its operations in 1993. Since its inception it has been dedicated to publishing books focused on the artistic, cultural and historical expressions of Brazilian Identity. These publications deal with architectural and religious heritage, the environment, racial plurality and issues related to social and technological changes that have occurred in a modernizing society. Heavily influenced by the Brazilian, and more specifically Bahian, cultural context, the designs of Solisluna’s books creatively reproduce these unique themes. Solisluna has been known for publishing high-quality literature: prose and poetry, novels, essays and Afro-Brazilian studies, in addition to art and children’s books.

Es ist Karwoche in Ayacucho, ein düsteres Spektakel von Blut und Exzeß. Was sind das für Spuren, die auf die Terrororganisation Leuchtender Pfad hinweisen? Und warum drückt ihm der Militärkommandant eine Dienstwaffe in die Hand? Schon bald hat Chacaltana alle Gewißheiten verloren und sieht sich unversehens selbst in einen Strudel aberwitziger Gewalt gezogen. Vor dem sehr realen Hintergrund der politischen und gesellschaftlichen Abgründe seines Landes erzählt der junge peruanische Autor einen temporeichen, psychologisch eindringlichen Thriller, wofür ihm sogleich die internationale Aufmerksamkeit zuteil wurde. Roter April erhielt den Alfaguara-Preis 2006 und wird in zahlreiche Sprachen übersetzt.

Nicht erst seit der vielbeachteten Wahl des neuen Papstes, nicht erst seit den religiös motivierten Terroranschlägen, die die westlichen Demokratien erschüttert haben, und nicht erst seit der Wiederkehr religiöser Fundamentalismen in allen Teilen der Welt wird deutlich, daß die Frage der Religion zu einer Nagelprobe der Zivilisation geworden ist. Doch war die Religion nicht längst überwunden? Die Philosophen Richard Rorty und Gianni Vattimo, die als Vertreter einer dezidierten Metaphysikkritik nicht gerade in Verdacht stehen, dem Christentum das Wort zu reden, stellen die Frage nach der Zukunft der Religion.
