Beginnend mit vorausschauenden Andeutungen über seine zukünftigen Absichten, Kritiken seiner philosophischen Gegner und Beschreibungen seiner angestrebten Methoden, endet er mit einer faszinierenden Verteidigung seiner berühmten These vom Primat der Wahrnehmung. In der Perspektive der epochalen Phänomenologie der Wahrnehmung erscheint das Phänomen der Wahrnehmung mehr als nur ein mögliches Thema der Phänomenologie zu sein: Das Primat der Wahrnehmung impliziert Konsequenzen für die Philosophie in all ihren Erscheinungsformen. Merleau-Pontys Entdeckung der Wahrnehmung wird zu einem gleichermaßen aktuellen wie radikalen Programm für das phänomenologische Philosophieverständnis.

Die Abenteuer der Dialektik sind die Abenteuer der Politik und der politischen Philosophie in unserem Jahrhundert. Merleau-Ponty versucht sie nachzuzeichnen. Der Generation von 1917 war die Revolution der erhabene Punkt, in dem Wirklichkeit und Werte, Subjekt und Objekt, Individuum und Gesamtheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft zueinander in Beziehung treten. Nach 1917 aber hat sich in Rußland gegen den klassischen Marxismus der Synthese ein Marxismus der Antithesen entwickelt; die Fortdauer der Antinomien spiegelt die Fortdauer der Aktion. Auch Sartre, so argumentiert Merleau-Ponty, gründet seine Verteidigung der kommunistischen Politik auf Antinomien und tritt damit in Gegensatz zu Marx, der im Kommunismus die Verwirklichung der Geschichte sah, während Sartre ihn als deren Überwindung und Zerstörung aus freiem Willen begreift. Der freie Wille reflektiert aber nur den Zwang der Geschichte. Das Abenteuer der Dialektik läuft auf ihre Abschaffung hinaus.

Ausgehend von der Rätselhaftigkeit des Leibes werden zunächst verschiedene Dimensionen der Leiblichkeit wie Empfinden und Wahrnehmen, räumliche Orientierung und Bewegung, Spontaneität und Gewohnheit sowie Ausdruck und Sprache des Körpers entfaltet. Der anticartesianische Entwurf läuft methodisch auf eine Verflechtung von natürlichem und kulturellem, von eigenem und fremdem Leib hinaus. So eröffnen sich Perspektiven für eine Theorie der Generativität sowie für einen Polymorphismus des Geschlechtsleibes, jenseits von Naturalismus und Konstruktivismus. Am Ende steht der Ausblick auf ein leibliches Responsorium und ein entsprechendes Ethos der Sinne. Die Vorlesungen greifen zurück auf Husserls, Schelers, Plessners und vor allem auf Merleau-Pontys Phänomenologie des Leibes sowie auf die Gestalttheorie, Verhaltensforschung, medizinische Anthropologie und Pathologie. Gleichzeitig werden Brücken geschlagen zu neueren neurologischen Forschungen sowie zu Fragen der Körpergeschichte, der Körpertechnik und der Körperpolitik.

Yet the results of first-person research – such as the famous studies provided by Maurice Merleau-Ponty in his Phenomenology of Perception – have indeed produced knowledge subsequently ascertained by neuroscientific research. The purpose of this book is to assist readers in developing first-person methods as a rigorous approach. It is designed to assist researchers in the field of education to develop their competencies in the first-person approach. Concrete examples, descriptions, precepts, and possible findings are provided to guide readers in their inquiries. In “Sciroppo da more – Brunette liquide” le emozioni divengono musica, poiché l’armonia si sposa perfettamente con l’arte ardita della parola ed entrambe danzano insieme scivolando giù fino a un bivio inatteso, dove si palesa l’alter ego dell'autore, quel Paul Bernàc che, con prepotenza quasi irriverente, si fa largo là dove il Bruni non oserebbe metter piede. Qui, da questo suggestivo sdoppiamento, nasce un’irresistibile fascinazione la quale genera, per incanto, la poesia della vita, che nasce come un incontro effimero ma, proprio per questo, magico e irripetibile.
