        Die Wiedergewinnung des Realismus

by Hubert Dreyfus, Charles Taylor, Joachim Schulte

        by Bernhard Waldenfels

        Band 2: Praktische Philosophie

by Ante Pažanin, Bernhard Waldenfels, Jan M. Broekman, Klaus Boer, Bernhard Waldenfels

        by Bernhard Waldenfels, Regula Giuliani

        by Andrea Potestà

El pensamiento del grito (The Thought of Scream) Author: Andrea Potestà ISBN: 978-956-6048-23-7 140 Pages Year: 2020 This piece of work is an invitation to the deconstruction of language and the dismantling of all pretentionsto dominate gestuality. Through Artaud, Nietzsche, Merleau-Ponty, Lacoue-Labarthe and Derrida, this book establishes a framework without history that attempts to question the bottom of material and primitive sounding expressivity. Its pages pretend to put into evidence the retroactive effect of language, its impulse to become a home, notof the «being», as Heidegger proposed, but of the specters of the body that secretly inhabits it as an absent presence, unsettling, and suspensive

        First-Person Methods

Toward an Empirical Phenomenology of Experience

        by Roth, W.-M.

In the history of psychology, first-person methods, such as introspection, have come into disrepute in favor of the experimental approach. Yet the results of first-person research – such as the famous studies provided by Maurice Merleau-Ponty in his Phenomenology of Perception – have indeed produced knowledge subsequently ascertained by neuroscientific research. The purpose of this book is to assist readers in developing first-person methods as a rigorous approach. It is designed to assist researchers in the field of education to develop their competencies in the first-person approach. Concrete examples, descriptions, precepts, and possible findings are provided to guide readers in their inquiries. Surrounding the inquiries, reflective commentaries assist readers to become reflexively aware of what they are doing and thereby come to bring into discourse the methods they have used. That is, readers are assisted in developing research praxis by experiencing first-person methods first hand and then to become reflexively aware of the method as method.

        Discipline and Learn

        Bodies, Pedagogy and Writing

        by Watkins, M.

Discipline and Learn: Bodies, Pedagogy and Writing explores how discipline is typically construed as a form of subjection in contemporary educational thought and in critical and cultural theory more broadly. It provides a critique of this emphasis on the repressive aspects of discipline highlighting its enabling potential and role in the development of dispositions to learning. The book engages with the work of a range of theorists: Foucault, Bourdieu, Merleau-Ponty, Mauss and Spinoza and considers their usefulness in theorizing embodiment and learning in the teaching of writing in the early years of school. Emphasis, however, is placed on the work of Bourdieu and his notion of habitus melding theory and practice in an ethnography of contemporary classrooms. This text is invaluable reading for students and academics across the social sciences and humanities interested in questions of embodiment, affect and their relation to learning. This is the most thought-provoking book to be published on pedagogy in a long, long time. Conceptually elegant and empirically rich, it undercuts conventional wisdom and potentially rearranges how we think about teaching, learning and writing. It argues that students’ bodies not just their minds matter in learning, explaining how, in practice, the desire to learn is a mindful bodily disposition. And it shows how, through an enabling form of discipline, teachers can produce a scholarly habitus in all students, including the educationally disadvantaged and defiant. Jane Kenway, Professor of Education, Monash University Discipline and Learn: Bodies, Pedagogy and Writing an excellent book which makes an important contribution to our understanding of both pedagogy and the body and which is sure to spark debate in both fields. It is careful and judicious in its approach but still manages to be provocative and original.Nick Crossley, Professor of Sociology, University of Manchester

Semióticas del cine y del audiovisual

by Juan Alberto Conde, Torben Grodal,Buckland, Warren, Oakley, Todd, Odin, Roger. Echeverri Jaramillo, Andrea. Díaz Roa, César Augusto. Duarte, German A. Ríos, Diego Felipe. Finol, José Enrique. Finol, David Enrique. Corral Cuartas, Álvaro. Sosa, Diego Hernando.

        MUTATIONS: DISSONANCES OF PROGRESS

        by Adauto Novates (editor)

The eleventh book in the series Mutations, Dissonances of progress discusses how the progress of technology brought undeniable benefits to humanity – such as advances in medicine and communication –, improving our daily life. On the other hand, it brought speed and superficiality to the relations of the human being with its surroundings, and degraded several aspects of current life with the exacerbation of individualism, the substitution of moral values, the overestimation of religious beliefs, the economy as the utmost referential of life in common, the knowledge of specialists to the detriment of thinkers. The essays in this volume analyze this situation and indicate paths for reflection.

        Reificación mediática

        Rewind

        by Juan Tallón

SHORTLISTED FOR IV PREMIO BIENAL DE NOVELA MARIO VARGAS LLOSA 2021 -   One Friday in May, on what is shaping up to be a perfect day, there is a strange explosion in a building in Lyon. One of the flats in the now ruined building was occupied by a group of students from various countries who were having a party. Paul, student of Fine Art; Emma, tormented by the tortuous history of her Spanish family; Luca, fascinated both with mathematics and with the cyclist, Marco Pantani; and Ilka, a student who left Berlin with nothing more than a guitar on her back: these are the tenants of a house that was a popular meeting place for the city’s students. In the neighbouring flat, also hit by the explosion, lives a quiet Moroccan family, whose members are apparently well-integrated into French life. The novel explores events from various points of view. Through five narrators – victims and witnesses – we discover what happened that Friday night and the consequences that unfolded over the next three years, until their accounts have covered every hidden aspect of the explosion.   Rewind explores whether it is possible to rewind events. And examines our personal ghosts, the role of chance, the people who in the end we do not become, the secrets that must or must not be told, and our capacity to remake ourselves when we are broken. This novel is an espionage operation that investigates the mechanisms of life. How it changes without warning, turns, throws you into the air and destroys you when you are least prepared for it. And, just as mysteriously, how – if you survive everything life has to throw at you – it then allows you to remake yourself and keep moving forward.

        Brunette liquide

        by Paolo Bruni

Talking about sonnets in the twenty-first century might seem somehow outdated. Yet, Bruni's verses are of a stainless vital energy, impervious to the liquid erosion of time. The power of a calibrated verse, the adequate rhyme, the abundance of details determine the evolution of a collection that exudes from every syllable the pure essence of the poet who is absorbed by his own words.
