Introduction: ‘Civilised complicity’ is when judges, lawyers, academics and others, for political ends, are willing to legitimise oppressive and improper actions including torture, ‘administrative’ detentions, imprisonment and death sentences against individuals and groups of peoples, and also invasions of countries.
