Hungry Tomato Ltd.
Hungry Tomato designs and publishes children’s (5-11 years) non-fiction books that stimulate and encourage reading and learning with fun and engaging topics. We call this soft learning for educational markets. In just a few years, we have published over 200 titles, with 700+ titles licensed in 19 different languages across the world. Our new pre-school (0 to 4 years) Tiny Tomato imprint launches in 2021 with books designed to promote learning through interaction. These books will feature tactile and engaging material to help nurture and encourage young children’s understanding, early learning and development Beetle Books (US) and Hungry Banana (UK) are two imprints with books featuring some of the best artists and authors in the world today. We work with established and well-known illustrators as well, as is part of our ethos, new and exciting young talent. Together we produce beautiful books that become bookshelf favourites in homes schools and libraries all over the world. For those kids that prefer fact to fiction we produce books that will keep those pages turning.

Alice findet sich im Traumland wieder. Dort trifft sie auf das weiße Kaninchen, das Alice in seinen unterirdischen Bau führt, um dort nach einer illustrierten Ausgabe von H.C. Artmanns »Frankenstein in Sussex« zu suchen. Im Laufe der Handlung trifft Alice wiederholt auf das Kaninchen, das auch aus anderen literarischen Werken zitiert, sei es von Herman Melville oder E.M. Cioran. Anders als bei Carroll befindet sich diese Alice nicht im Wunderland, sondern in einem tiefen Haus unter der Erde. Dort begegnet sie in verschiedenen Stockwerken den bekannten Schöpfungen Lewis Carrolls: der pfeiferauchenden Raupe, der grinsenden Katze, der Suppenschildkröte und anderen mehr. Wiederholt werden von diesen Kreaturen die Schrecknisse der Kindheit und Jugend angesprochen. Als Alice, im Erdgeschoss des Hauses angekommen, Frankensteins Monster begegnet, erwacht sie aus ihrem schrecklichen Traum.

Ultraviolet-B radiation (UV-B) has profound effects on plant growth and development, and exposure varies with ozone depletion and across geographic regions, with ecosystem and agricultural consequences. Lewis Carroll wurde als Charles Lutwidge Dodgson am 27. Januar 1832 in Daresbury, England als drittes von elf Kindern und ältester Sohn des Pfarrers Charles Dodgson geboren. Carroll stellte schon als Kind sein mathematisches Interesse unter Beweis, war sehr belesen und verfasste für sich und seine Geschwister kleine Theaterstücke, um so der engen Welt des Pfarrhauses zu entfliehen. Nach unglücklichen Jahren in einer Privatschule begann er 1850 sein Studium in Oxford am College Christ Church und lehrte dort im Anschluss als Tutor Mathematik. Er entdeckte bald seine Leidenschaft für die Fotografie, später widmete er sich zunehmend auch dem Schreiben, das stark von seiner Liebe zur Logik und Mathematik geprägt war. Er fand insbesondere am Entwerfen von fantasievollen Denkaufgaben und Wortspielen großen Gefallen. An der Universität von Oxford lernte er das Mädchen Alice Liddell kennen, die Tochter des Dekans von Christ Church. Sie gilt als Vorlage und Inspirationsquelle für sein 1865 entstandenes, berühmtestes Werk Alice im Wunderland. Der Roman wurde in mehr als 80 Sprachen übersetzt. Er starb am 14. Januar 1898 in Guildford. Christian Enzensberger, geboren 1931 in Nürnberg und verstorben 2009 in München, war Professor für Englische Literaturgeschichte an der Universität München. Er übersetzte zahlreiche Werke aus dem Englischen ins Deutsche.

Alice Miller wurde am 12. Januar 1923 in Polen geboren. Sie studierte in Basel Philosophie, Psychologie und Soziologie. Nach der Promotion machte sie in Zürich ihre Ausbildung zur Psychoanalytikerin und übte 20 Jahre lang diesen Beruf aus. 1980 gab sie ihre Praxis und Lehrtätigkeit auf, um zu schreiben. Seitdem veröffentlichte sie 13 Bücher, in denen sie die breite Öffentlichkeit mit den Ergebnissen ihrer Kindheitsforschungen bekannt machte. Sie verstand ihre Suche nach der Realität der Kindheit als einen scharfen Gegensatz zur Psychoanalyse, die in der alten Tradition das Kind beschuldigt und die Eltern schont. Alice Miller ist am 14. April 2010 im Alter von 87 Jahren verstorben.

As well as the main concordance to the rhymes, the volume features a wealth of ancillary materials, which will be of value to both professional Spenserians and students, including distribution lists and an alphabetical listing of all the words in The Faerie Queene. The volume breaks new ground by including two studies by Richard Danson Brown and J. B. Lethbridge, so that the reader is given provocative analyses alongside the raw data about Spenser as a rhymer. Brown considers the reception of rhyme, theoretical models and how Spenser's rhymes may be reading for meaning. Lethbridge in contrast discusses the formulaic and rhetorical character of the rhymes. ;
