Feminism is a living phenomenon, but its history can and should be recorded. A number of serious works on the history of the women's movement and feminism have been published in Ukraine, but it is only recently that the history of Ukrainian feminism appeared in the form of a graphic novel. This book is our humble attempt to try and cover the vast history of Ukrainian feminism on a moderate number of pages. We have mentioned many outstanding personalities, but we have not mentioned even more names, for which we immediately apologise - after all, a lot has happened in 150 years and it’s hard to fit all into a relatively small graphic novel. This book may be of interest to those who have only recently become interested in feminism, as it is a brief introduction to the history of Ukrainian feminism. More experienced readers will be delighted to notice some additional details and stories to what they already know.

Project "History of Civilisation. Ukraine "covers the period from the Cimmerians to the third partition of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. It is divided into five main blocks: from the Cimmerians to Kyivan Rus (10th century BC - 9th century AD); from Kyivan Rus to the Galician Principality (10th century - 1256); from the Galician Principality to the Union of Lublin (1256–1569); from the Union of Lublin to the Peace Agreement of Andrusiv (1569–1667); from the Peace Agreement of Andrusiv to the third partition of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth (1667–1794). The second volume "History of Civilisation. Ukraine” is dedicated to the period from Kyivan Rus to the Galician Principality (end of the 10th century - 1256). The content of the book is designed to highlight the most important aspects of the historical and cultural process that took place in the lands of modern Ukraine at that time. Leading specialists in the field of medieval history and archeology, as well as young researchers were involved in the creation of the book. Due to this, the book combines theoretical backbone that is basic for the domestic historical science and the results of innovative research, that is presented for the first time in such a popular way. Information on history, economics, language, religion, culture (literature and musical arts, architecture), life (clothing, games and entertainment, etc.) and military affairs of the medieval population of modern Ukraine are collected under one cover. The chief editor of this publication is an archaeologist, Candidate of Historical Sciences of Ukraine (PhD) Olena Chernenko, who has been researching archeological monuments and the history of Ukraine in the Middle Ages for more than thirty years. The book is supplemented by rich illustrative material, designed for the wide audience.

Genre, audience, and religious change in early modern England

The pastor in print explores the phenomenon of early modern pastors who chose to become print authors, addressing ways authorship could enhance, limit or change clerical ministry and ways pastor-authors conceived of their work in parish and print. It identifies strategies through which pastor-authors established authorial identities, targeted different sorts of audiences and strategically selected genre and content as intentional parts of their clerical vocation. The first study to provide a book-length analysis of the phenomenon of early modern pastors writing for print, it uses a case study of prolific pastor-author Richard Bernard to offer a new lens through which to view religious change in this pivotal period. By bringing together questions of print, genre, religio-politics and theology, the book will interest scholars and postgraduate students in history, literature and theological studies, and its readability will appeal to undergraduates and non-specialists.

"I am Jugoslovenka" argues that queer-feminist artistic and political resistance were paradoxically enabled by socialist Yugoslavia's unique history of patriarchy and women's emancipation. Spanning performance and conceptual art, video works, film and pop music, lesbian activism and press photos of female snipers in the Yugoslav wars, the book analyses feminist resistance in a range of performative actions that manifest the radical embodiment of Yugoslavia's anti-fascist, transnational and feminist legacies. It covers celebrated and lesser-known artists from the 1970s to today, including Marina Abramovic, Sanja Ivekovic, Vlasta Delimar, Tanja Ostojic, Selma Selman and Helena Janecic, along with music legends Lepa Brena and Esma Redzepova. "I am Jugoslovenka" tells a unique story of women's resistance through the intersection of feminism, socialism and nationalism in East European visual culture.
