View Rights PortalDer spanische Lyriker und Prosaist Juan Ramón Jiménez wurde 1881 in Moguer geboren und starb 1958 in Puerto Rico, wo er seit Beginn des Spanischen Bürgerkrieges im Exil lebte. Von seinen zahlreichen Gedichtbänden und poetischen Prosaromanen ist Platero und ich wohl der bekannteste und beliebteste. Juan Ramón Jiménez gilt als einer der bedeutendsten spanischen Lyriker des zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts und wurde für seine Dichtung 1956 mit dem Nobelpreis für Literatur ausgezeichnet.
