Author Biography
Gary Beehag is semi-retired but still involved in the Australian turfgrass industry. Gary began employment (1970) obtaining college qualifications in turfgrass/horticulture (1972-1975), pest control (1987) and Diploma of Technical Teaching (1987). Gary commenced as course superintendent, college lecturer, turfgrass consultant and technical sales and support (1970-2014). In 1980, Gary was awarded a NSW Churchill Fellowship investigating turfgrass courses and research (California and Texas USA). Gary was employed at Australian Turfgrass Research Institute (ATRI, Sydney) as turfgrass consultant (1987-1998); his roles involved extension and research together with turfgrass pesticide efficacy and phytotoxicity trials. Gary is a member of the Australian Golf Course Superintendents Association (AGCSA). When at ATRI, Gary spoke at state, national and international turfgrass conferences; United States (1980), New Zealand (1990 and 2018), Singapore (1992) and Scotland (1994). During attendance
