Author Biography
Dr Chetna Gangwar was born on 10.11.1982 in Distt Pilibhit of Uttar Pradesh. Dr Gangwar worked as veterinary officer in Department of Animal Husbandry, U.P. from 22.12.2007 to 31.12.2012. Then she gets selected in ARS and became scientist in ICAR on 1.1.2013. Dr Gangwar is currently working as scientist in Animal Physiology and Reproduction Division, ICAR-CIRG, Mathura. Dr Gangwar did her B.V.Sc in 2006 with 85.17% marks and M.V.Sc in Animal Reproduction with 87.28% marks in 2008 from G.B.P.U.A & T, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. Dr Gangwar completed her Ph.D. in 2017 with 88.88% marks from DUVASU, Mathura. Dr Gangwar has published 56 research articles in the journals of national and international repute. Along with this she has developed one Mobile App on “Artificial insemination in goats”, commercialized 1 technology on “Goat semen diluents composition and cryopreservation protocol”, published 2 books, 19 book chapters, 7 manuals, 8 folders, 47 technical articles, delivered 4 radio talks and 1 T.V. talk and guided 5 students. Dr Gangwar has worked in 15 research projects as either PI or Co-PI, Dr Gangwar has organized many training programmes, like 1 winter school sponsored by ICAR, 22 National training programmes on “Scientific goat farming”, 5 specialized training programmes on “Artificial Insemination in Goats”, 7 Sponsored training programmes on “Goat farming” and organized as well as attended various Kisan Melas, Kisan Gosthis, Field days, Awareness Camps etc. Dr Gangwar has received many prestigious awards from international and national societies, like Associate fellowship from National Academy of Dairy Sciences (NADSI) 2022, Prof. S.S. Guraya Young Scientist Award 2022 from ISSRF, Dr Vallabh Mandokot Young Woman Veterinarian Award 2020 from National Academy of Veterinary Sciences (NAVS), Scientist Award of ISSAR in 2014, 8 Best Oral Presentation Awards, Many Best Paper Awards and Excellent Reviewer Award etc. Dr Gangwar is working in the area of buck semen cryopreservation and is eminent scientist of male reproduction. Dr Gangwar is member of editorial board of “Livestock Research International Journal”, E-Pashupalan an online magazine, Annual Report of CIRG, Ajamukh (Newsletter) of CIRG etc. from last 4 years as well as she is reviewer of many international journals like Reproduction in Domestic Animals, Andrologia, Theriogenology, Asian Pacific Journal of Reproduction, Veterinary Research Communications, Indian Journal of Animal Sciences, Indian Journal of Small Ruminants etc. Dr. S.D. Kharche was born in 1962 in Madhya Pradesh state. He graduated in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry from Mhow Veterinary College in 1986. He received his Master’s degree in Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics in 1989 and Doctorate degree in 1998 from Deemed University, IVRI Izatnagar (U.P.). Dr. Kharche started his professional career in 1989 at Indian Veterinary Redearch Institute, Izatnagar. Soon he joined as Chief Veterinary Officer cum Project Manager in 1990 at Dairy Farm of Korakundah Estate, Ooty, TNAU. After qualifying the Agriculture Research Services of ICAR, he joined as Scientist, at NAARM, Hyderabad in 1992 and soon he joined as Scientist, Animal Reproduction at IVRI Izatnagar in 1993. Later he was selected and joined as Senior Scientist, Animal Reproduction in 2001 Principal scientist from 01-01-2009 and is continuing as Incharge APR Division, ICAR-CIRG Makhdoom from 01-08-2019 till date. Dr. Kharche in his professional career has made enormous scientific contributions in Reproductive Biotechnology. He did significant work on Oestrus Synchronization, Multiple Ovulation and Embryo Transfer in Cattle and Goat and develop new superovulation protocol. He has been instrumental in the team for production of calves and kids through Embryo Transfer, production of kid through IVM, IVF and IVC and production of several calves and kids through Artificial Insemination. As reproduction scientist he has made significant contributions In Reproductive herd health management and treatment of reproductive disorders in Cattle, Buffalo, Sheep and Goat. During his tenure infrastructure development and Re modeling of laboratory took place. Dr. Kharche has been an active researcher and worked in 28 research projects as PI and CO-PI and has to his credit with 150 papers published in national and international journals, 85 popular articles, one technical bulletin and edited 5 books. He has guided 22 students and 01 post-doc. Dr. Kharche nominated by ICAR as an expert for training on A.I. and goat management to Zambia. and visited Argentina to attend and present research papers in 36th Annual conference of International Embryo transfer Society. Dr. Kharche is recipient of Junior and Senior Research Fellowship and several professional awards: Prof. Nil’s lagerlof Memorial Award – 2001, G. B. Singh Memorial Award – 2003, Gaon Gyan Paritoshik Award – 2006, and several awards for Hindi shodh patra presentation in Hindi Pakhwada. Beside this he is also recipient of ISSGPR Fellow-2019, NAVS Fellow-2019 and ISSAR Fellow-2019. R. Pourouchottamane is presently working as a Principal Scientist (LPM) at ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Goats, Makhdoom, Mathura (U.P.). He had his graduation in Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry from Madras Veterinary College (TANUVAS) and did his Master’s and Doctoral degree in Livestock Production Management from VCRI, Namakkal (TANUVAS) and ICAR-IVRI, Izatnagar in 1999 and 2001, respectively. He has 20 years of experience in various fields of animal production system like pig husbandry (ICAR-NRC on Pig, Guwahati), yak husbandry (ICAR-NRC on Yak, Dirang), sheep and rabbit farming (ICAR-CSWRI), goat husbandry (ICAR-CIRG, Makhdoom) as well as on farming system Research (ATARI, Barapani). He has published more than 80 research papers and popular articles in various national and international journals of repute. He has published books on different species and farming system research like Scientific Pig Production and Management: A Bio-treasure for Rural Society (IBPSS, New Delhi), Technology inventory for livestock and poultry production in North Eastern Region (ZC Unit, Zone3, Meghalaya), Handbook on Commercial Goat (ICAR-CIRG) and Goat Husbandry and Management (ICAR RC for NEH region, Meghalaya). Dr. Ravi Ranjan born on December 11, 1979, obtained BVSc & AH from WBUAFS, Kolkata, M.V.Sc. from NDRI, Karnal, Haryana and PhD from IVRI, Bareilly, UP. After joining as Scientist in Indian Council for Agriculture Research in 2007 at ICAR-CIRG, Mathura, UP, he became Senior Scientist in 2017 and continuing. He is renowned Scientist in the area of Reproductive Physiology and Biotechnology. He had published more than 65 research papers in National and International reputed Journal. He had published 03 books, 10 Training Manual and more than 100 book chapters. He has completed more than 12 Research project and presently handling 08 research project as PI and Co-PI from different funding agency (DBT, DST, NABARD, ICAR, NLM, AICRP etc.). He had standardized and developed semen freezing protocol and Artificial Insemination techniques in different breeds of goats and produced more than 500 kids at this Institute and this Technology was commercialised and Transferred to Aegipan Animal Biocare Pvt. Ltd. Hooghly, W.B. India. He has guided 4 B.Sc., 2 M.Sc and presently 3 PhD students are working. He has successfully organized 30 trainings, 2 workshop/symposia including International Conference and workshop, 02 ICAR winter course, Entrepreneurship Development Programmes, Model Training Courses, and Industry- Farmer Interface etc. He is recipients of several awards in his name, NAAS Associate Fellow Award, NADSI Associate Fellow Award, S. C. Sud Memorial Best Thesis Award, S. S. Guraya Young Scientist Award, Young Scientist Award (SURE), Best oral and poster Presentation Award, D. N. Pandey best poster Award etc. He also started training in Goat semen freezing and AI Training to different stakeholder and started commercialization of goat semen straws first time in India from ICAR Institute
