Victorina Press was created by  Consuelo Rivera-Fuentes, a Chilean-British writer and academic. We are therefore rooted strongly in Chilean and British cultures. Our mission is to publish inspirational, quality books in the spirit of bibliodiversity, a concept developed by a group of Chilean independent publishers — Editores independientes de Chile. It encourages the celebration of a variety of voices from all over the world and prevents our publishing world from being a monolithic culture. Everyone has a story to tell. We want to be the ones to tell it. Consuelo’s Latin American roots play a huge role in our publishing today, with many of our books being translated into Spanish as stand alone or bilingual publications. Publishing everything from hard-hitting, inspirational memoirs, thrilling YA dystopias, gripping historical fiction, fun early learning, colourful, exciting children's books, literature for the classic shelf, and poetry to entice you, there is one book for every genre!

Sir Philip Sidney: The Countess of Pembroke's Arcadia

The New Arcadia, Second Revised Edition

by Victor Skretkowicz, Elisabeth Chaghafi, J. B. Lethbridge

Shipwrecks, gory battle scenes, cross-dressing, toxic relationships, abduction, torture (psychological and physical), comical country bumpkins, and, of course, love and poetry -Sir Philip Sidney's witty pastoral romance The Countess of Pembroke's Arcadia is the classic that has it all in terms of entertainment factors. Modern readers mostly know Arcadia in its complete 'old' version, but it is the New Arcadia (published in 1590) that was the most influential and most widely imitated literary text of the sixteenth century. While preserving the basic plot - a ruler attempts to escape an alarming oracle by moving his family to the countryside and engaging in shepherd-cosplay until the arrival of two foreign princes triggers a chain of events leading to the fulfilment of the oracle - this version adds further narrative strands and introduces ambitious revisions that showcase Sidney's stylistic brilliance as a prose writer.

Victor Hugo und die Versuchung des Unmöglichen

by Mario Vargas Llosa, Angelica Ammar

        Afro-atlantic voices

autobiographies and memories of slavery and freedom

        by Rafael Domingos de Oliveira

The lives of Africans were not limited to enslavement and the destruction of their previous forms of social organization. After the remarkable experience of crossing the Atlantic, millions of lives were reinvented even under terribly adverse conditions. New devotions, family formations, languages, new foods: everything had yet to be done in the different forms of resistance mobilized for survival. And survival was the greatest resistance, not to mention that learning to tell one's own story in a way that was understandable to the interlocutors one wanted to reach was undeniable proof of vitality. [...] The author did not let himself be intimidated by the unusual source in the environment of professional historians in Brazil and tackled subjects on which authoritative authors seemed to have already said it all, such as the meanings of freedom for those who built them. Facing these challenges is proof of Rafael's intellectual maturity. If this proof serves to qualify him in his craft, the book also brings the reader a fine, well-constructed and pleasurable writing.

        Der Rhein

by Victor Hugo, Annette Seemann, Hermann Mildenberger, Annette Seemann

by Ntsama Abah, Balafun studio by K. Willy

"Contes de la forêt et de la savane (Fables d'ici et d'ailleurs)" is a collection of tales that immerses us at the crossroads of different Cameroonian cultures and, in a broader sense, of Central Africa. Here, through a very surprising mixture of French-speaking literature and mother tongue which is based on this particular cultural context, the author allows the power and delicacy of oral transmission to shine through in all simplicity in our regions. Consisting of ten tales of unequal lengths, the book presents the exceptional adventures of different living beings in which man meets much more than his “animal” or “insect” brothers… Indeed, and through these multiple adventures, the reader rubs shoulders with wisdom as well as its history and that of the world in which he lives.
