        Deutsche Sprichwörter

by Mehrdad Zaeri, Marie Bernhard, Karl Simrock

Denn: »In schönen Büchern blättert man gern.«

        Half of Forgetfulness

        by Mehrdad Ghafarzadeh

An Iranian photographer, a disabled veteran who was present in the Iraq-Iran war, is going to Barcelona's 1991 Paralympic Games. There he meets other disabled soldiers from two other wars. The author consciously breaks with the traditional ways of writing, and we are dealing, just like our modern world, with incomplete and fragmentary texts. The story, told by different people, lets the reader be familiar with the characters' opinions about the wars. Awards and recognition: Winner of the Habib Ghanipour Literary Prize, 1998. Praised in the 15th Book of the Year Award.
