Her favorite age group falls within the New Adult range but her works appeal to the older YA and adult reader as well. Melanie would like to find representation as well as negotiate domestic and foreign print, digital and audio rights/licensing on her current published works and her upcoming projects.  Melanie S. Wolfe grew up between Kansas City, MO, and various places in Oklahoma (USA) where she studied Liberal Arts at the University of Oklahoma. She was a military wife for ten years and served the Army community as a Relocation Clerk while stationed in Bamberg, Germany. She currently lives in Florida with her family and is loving the beach life.

Zur gleichen Zeit arbeitet die Psychologin und Ärztin Charlotte Wolff – eine deutsche Jüdin, die 1933 zuerst nach Paris und dann nach London emigrierte – an einer umfangreichen Monographie zu Magnus Hirschfeld, dem Pionier der Erforschung menschlicher Sexualität. Zwei Frauen, die sich nie persönlich begegnen werden. Aber in den drei Jahren ihres Austauschs entsteht ein so engagierter wie anrührender Briefwechsel über Arbeitsvorhaben, über den Alltag, über die Stellung der Künstlerin in einer männlich bestimmten Gesellschaft – und es ergibt sich das Bild einer stetig wachsenden Freundschaft.

        Dieses bisher unveröffentlichte Manuskript aus dem Nachlass Theodor Wolffs, geschrieben in Nizza zwischen 1942 und 1943, ist der erste Band eines geplanten dreiteiligen Zyklus, zu dem auch die Bände »Die Franzosen« und »Die Deutschen« gehören sollten. Den eigentlichen jüdischen Fragen gegenüber verhielt Wolff stets sehr zurückhaltend; einen besonderen Wert besitzen darum diese Aufzeichnungen, in denen sich Betrachtungen und Gedanken sowie »aktuelle« Berichte und autobiographische Details zu den historischen, politisch-ideologischen, gesellschaftlichen, kulturellen, religiösen und rechtlichen Dimensionen des »jüdischen Problems« im Laufe der Jahrhunderte finden. Theodor Wolffs persönliche Situation im französischen Exil sowie die antisemitische Stimmung in Frankreich vor und im Zweiten Weltkrieg, die Verfolgungen in Marseille, die Opposition in Frankreich, das deutsche Besatzungsregime stehen dabei im Vordergrund dieses gut formulierten, dicht gewebten, mitunter feuilletonistisch geschriebenen Essays, in dem sich ein unabhängiger Geist, ein literarisch gebildeter, wohlinformierter politischer Kopf zeigt.

        This collection of essays revisits gender and urban modernity in nineteenth-century Paris in the wake of changes to the fabric of the city and social life. In rethinking the figure of the flâneur, the contributors apply the most current thinking in literature and urban studies to an examination of visual culture of the period, including painting, caricature, illustrated magazines, and posters. Using a variety of approaches, the collection re-examines the long-held belief that life in Paris was divided according to strict gender norms, with men free to roam in public space while women were restricted to the privacy of the domestic sphere. Framed by essays by Janet Wolff and Linda Nochlin - two scholars whose work has been central to the investigation of gender and representation in the nineteenth century - this collection brings together new methods of looking at visual culture with a more nuanced way of picturing city life.
