View Rights PortalBurleigh Dodds Subliscience Publishing was established in 2015 by former staff at the award-winning Woodhead Publishing. Our vision is to help solve one of the world’s greatest challenges: to feed the world’s growing population. There is an urgent need for a more climate-smart agriculture able to feed a growing population whilst, at the same time, adapting to (and not exacerbating) climate change. Our goal is to build collections of research on key topics in agricultural science so that researchers can build on existing work and collaborate more effectively. We are achieving this by using ’smart-publishing’ to help achieve ’climate-smart’ agriculture.
View Rights PortalThe book of recollections of those, who went through hell and survived: prisoners of Donetsk and Luhansk prisoners, infamous "Isolation", Donbas colonies. These are the stories of those who were exchanged as prisoners of war on December 29, 2019, those who kissed the Ukrainian land at the "Maiorsk" checkpoint. Despite the controversy over the exchange itself, those who sacrificed their lives, families, peace, and health returned home. Ukrainian soldiers, journalists, bloggers, military aides, doctors, and locals talk about the life "before" and "after", about the life of Donbas during the war, about the atrocities and crimes of militants, about the horrors and tortures in captivity.
The title Iryna Shuvalova’s book Stonegardenwoods brings to mind the magic happening in an alchemist's retort. Likewise, in her poems, people break down into elements, and the world of things suddenly echoes with human voices. Eliminating the gaps not only between words but also between things, the author explores the phenomenon of memory at its deepest, most organic levels, where relatives and strangers interlace by circulatory systems, like trees with roots. This book is about belonging to time, place, and people and the inability to relate to any one of them.

On February 24, 2022, Ukrainians woke up in another reality: the sky was torned by the roar of Russian fighter jets, Russian missiles were flying at Ukrainian cities, subway stations have become the shelters. In this new reality, the concept of absolute security no longer existed. The first days of the war were very emotional and scary. You don't know what to do, you can't keep up with the news. You can't do anything because of these news... For not allowing anyone to rewrite our history, to put in it something that did not exist, like the Russians do when they swear black is white, we decided to collect people's memories of the first days of a full-scale invasion. To remember...

He looks at the local homo sapiens through the eyes of a somewhat naive outsider. The story is a tragicomedy about our contemporary world.

It’s a kind of guidelines for readers to help understand the city, allowing them to rethink their role in the community and realise whom they choose to be – responsible citisens or bystanders absently observing city processes. The book does not only uncover city mechanisms, but also encourages readers to participate in quality changes in our cities.
