Preservation and Maintenance of Living Fungi, 2nd Edition
by D Smith, A H S Onions
This second edition has been extended to include new information and developments in the preservation of fungi but maintains the coverage of methodology as presented in the first edition published in 1983. The book enables readers to select suitable preservation procedures for their purposes, gives information on the growth and maintenance of fungi and provides the background to manage a collection of microorganisms both safely and effectively. The methods described are those in operation or experimented upon at IMI, and cover the simple to the more complex techniques. The methods listed are of use in all situations where living cultures of fungi are required, from teaching and research to industry and technology.

Keys to the Trematoda, Volume 2
by Edited by Arlene Jones, Rodney A Bray, David I Gibson
This is the second of three volumes of Keys to the Trematoda, a series on the systematics and identification of the Class Trematoda. The book presents the taxa in the Order Echinostomida and some of those in the Order Plagiorchiida, with keys for their identification at the superfamily, family, subfamily and generic levels. The keys are based on critical examination of specimens by subject experts, and generic diagnoses are accompanied by illustrations of important morphological characters. This volume includes seven echinostomidan superfamilies (the echinostomatoids, haploporoids, haplosplanchnoids, heronimoids, microscaphidioids, paramphistomatoids and pronocephaloids) and two plagiorchiidan superfamilies (the allocreadioids and lepocreadioids).The first volume covered the Subclass Aspidogastrea and Order Strigeida, while the third volume, due to be published in early 2006, will cover the remaining members of the Plagiorchiida.

Churchill and the Soviet Union
by David Carlton
In the already vast literature on Churchill, no single work has focused on his changing attitude towards the Soviet Union. This is the first project to isolate just one major theme in Churchill's lifeExplores whether or not Churchill was consistent through forty years and examines the possibility that perceptions of domestic political advantage may have shaped his course more than high-monded and disinterested evaluations of evolving Soviet intentions and capabilitiesChurchill still arouses a great deal of general interest, and a work which challenges a number of preconceptions, as this book does, will undoubtedly appeal to the general readerA clearly argued, revisionist study of Churchill's views about and dealings with the Soviet Union. It will be part of the growing historical literature that seeks to reassess Churchill. ;
