She provided for her family first as a high school teacher, and then by writing guides for teachers. The author didn’t write her PhD dissertation until after turning forty, and she became a professor of Hebrew literature at Ben-Gurion University. She has published eight scholarly books and fifteen books of poetry, and she has won numerous distinguished prizes for her poetry. Her collection of stories, The Wall, Etc., (originally titled Music) won the ASI (Association of Israeli Writers) prize. Professor Bar-Yosef has translated poetry and prose fiction from English, French, and Russian. Ihre Sammlung von Geschichten, Die Mauer usw., (ursprünglich betitelt Musik) gewann den ASI-Preis (Association of Israeli Writers). Bar-Yosef hat Gedichte und Prosa aus dem Englischen, Französischen und Russischen übersetzt. Eine englischsprachige nordamerikanische Ausgabe wurde Anfang 2019 von Samuel Wachtmans Sons, Inc., CA, veröffentlicht.184 Seiten. Eine französischsprachige Ausgabe ist zur Veröffentlichung im Sommer 2019 geplant.

If we trust most assessments, the global anti-corruption movement has so far not managed to markedly reduce the level of corruption, especially in the more problematic countries. This book examines the actual workings of transnational anti-corruption advocacy on the ground. In the 21st century, transnational advocacy has become ever more complex. Using the case study of contemporary Russia the book reassesses what this means for advocacy practices. It thoroughly maps the entanglement between international, national and local levels and reveals a range of obstacles posed to constructively involving civil society in practice, despite unanimous rhetorical commitment on the part of international actors and governments. The book further shows that the effectiveness of transnational advocacy is determined by both strategic action and situational contingencies. The book speaks to readers in, at least, three main fields of study: transnational advocacy, the anti-corruption movement, and Eastern Europe, particularly Russia. ;
