by Laura Fonseca Durán, Diana Vernot, Tatiana Rojas Roa, Laura Giraldo Martínez, Edwin Corena Puentes, David J. Luquetta Cediel

This book is an initiative of the Regional Groups of Historical Memory (GRMH), which, together with the National Center for Historical Memory since 2013, generated proposals for the construction of historical memory in Colombia. The objective of the consolidation of the GRMH has been to recognize local research processes carried out by university professors to build bridges between the country's institutions and communities victimized in the framework of the internal armed conflict in Colombia.   Although the participatory social research bets are nourished by multiple edges, disciplines, and schools of thought, there are methodological peculiarities in the investigations that are formulated in the key of historical memory that, on this occasion, are transversal and are deepened in each chapter.

        Liderazgo centrado en la persona

        La propuesta de Carlos Llano

        by Murcio Rodríguez, Ricardo

by Ramírez Daza y García, Rómulo; Del Toro Comte, Cristina

The construction of regional identities in Spain, France and Germany, 1890-1939

        by Eric Storm

Many of the existing regional topics were forged in the late 19th or early 20th century. Painters, architects and international exhibitions -such as those in Barcelona and Seville- played a crucial role in the definition and visualization of the idiosyncratic character of each region. This pioneering book compares the process of building regional identities in Spain with that of France and Germany, showing that regionalist paintings, houses and pavilions were generally interpreted as a sample of (regional) diversity within the (national) unit. The culture of regionalism was therefore part of a new phase of the nationalization process, while its relations with the various regional movements were weak.

El espacio público de la migración

by Ricardo Espinoza Lolas y Jordi Riba (coords.)

This new book, The Public Space of Migration, is part of the Aporias de la Democracia series, of which it is its second volume. With the first, which bears the name of the collection, we immersed ourselves in the complex moments that our democracy lives today (haunted by multiple evils: from a voracious capitalism to the arrival of a new fascism, through fanaticism of all kinds); now we reflect on the various ways of expressing the phenomenon of migration. A group of philosophers, theologians, psychoanalysts, artists, sociologists, psychologists, philologists, historians, etc., reflect critically, and in a proactive way, on how to take charge of something that is inevitable and a constitutive part of the human beigns: “to migrate”. This collection intends to move forward with “fundamental issues” that today we radically urge to answer and, for this, we need a reflective and critical look on the level of what society demands of its intellectuals. We can not be locked in our study centers; it is impossible in these times. WeOthers must, and so we are all, trying to improve the quality of life in complex times of such foolishness. This collection will continue and, with our “concepts”, we want to give tools to everyone to be able to generate correct political decision-making. A Revolution of Us begins.

An Introduction to Christian Arab Literature

        by Pilar González Casado

Since its very beginning, Christianity has been present in the Middle East. However, the rise of Islam toward the end of the seventh century and the political and linguistic dominion it exerted over that region has a deep impact on the area and the Christian communities. When Arabic became the language of culture, Christian authors adopted it in their writings. As a result of the ups and downs in their relation with Islam, there will be apocalyptic and apocryphal works in ancient Palestine monasteries, books by Melkite, Nestorian and Monophysite authors, dogmatic treatises and poetic compositions. Moreover, both the Bible and patristic, liturgical and hagiographical works were soon translated into Arabic.  This literary activity took place not only in major centers such as Damascus, Baghdad and Cairo, but also in farther areas like Al-Andalus.

To the barricades. Culture, identity and political mobilization

        by José Álvarez Junco

This book gathers some of the author’s many works, selected for their interest about recent historiographical debates. They analyze the main topics that have articulated his long research career: history and theory of social movements, especially of the workers; doctrines, ideologies, myths and rhetoric; the concept of populism and the evolution of nationalist phenomena. The monograph is a good example of the best academic analysis of culture, identity and political mobilization in contemporary Spain.

        La era de Casandra

        Una apología del no saber

        by David Casacuberta

        by Miguel L. Pereira

As Paul Auster once said, football is the miracle that allowed Europe to hate itself without destroying itself. The ball has done more than any other political project for brotherhood in a land too used to fighting with itself. After each conflict, it was necessary for the ball to be there to make the continent a space of union and not a perpetual trench. For this reason, every time the European Championship is held, there is a part of the world that looks into each other's eyes and shakes hands. For this reason, when we write about the 60 years of history of this emblematic tournament, we are really drawing our memories, our fears and our desires as Europeans. Because the dreams of Delaunay, Panenka, Charisteas, Aragonés or Éder are also our dreams.

        The Christ Always New

The Place of Context in Christology

        by Francisco García Martínez

Something has changed in Christology, something that causes anxiousness and worry among the shepherds and theologians that try to give reason of their faith in a time and in a society where certitudes have dwindled. However, since Christ is the same yesterday, today and always, the only and universal Salvator in history, theology, forced by Christ’s eschatological lordship, which does not despise any historical present as his own body, must look for new ways to offer today’s men and women the truth, beauty and goodness that are in store for all in God’s very depths. According to this logic, where the context becomes a provocation inviting faith and theology to be daring, the liturgical Christ reveals himself as the foundation of Christology, since it is the place where he displays his truth and living presence.

        WHEN THE MOON RISES

        Federico García Lorca for kids

by Author: Federico García Lorca / Selection and editing by Marta Mearin / Illustrations: Carolina Monterrubio

Cuando sale la luna (When the moon rises) is an anthological selection of poetry and a play by the great Spanish writer Federico García Lorca. This selection has been specially designed to bring his poetry and drama closer to the world of children and young people, making it accessible to a greater number of boys, girls and young people so that they can discover his work, get to know it and enjoy it. Precisely because of this, some modifications have been made that seek to avoid macho expressions (socially accepted at the time the book was written) and to bring the characters of the play closer to children and young people today. The beautiful illustrations play with the poet’s words, bringing imagination and humor.

        Retomada

        by Pablo Albarenga

        by Victoria Combalía

This book proposes a fascinating, clear and didactic journey through the life and work of women artists. Camille Claudel, Frida Kahlo or Dora Maar, among others, occupy the pages of this book illustrating a wide time period and their corresponding styles, from Impressionism to the 1940s of the 20th century. This work constitutes a corrected and enlarged part of Amazonas con brush, a book published in 2006. The texts seek a balance between the historical importance of the creators and the interest in their life, which sheds much light on the difficulties of being a woman and artist at the same time. For this reason, special attention has been paid to their working conditions, their success or neglect of their careers, and those who were able to encourage them or, on the contrary, silence them. They fought, like men, to express their vision of the world and renew artistic language, but in a social context far removed from equal opportunities. This book written by Victoria Combalía was in 2006 the first publication that was published in Spain focused on women artists.
