Toxicology and Health Effects of Atmospheric Fine Particulate Matters

        by JIANG Guibin et al.

This book illustrates the problem and challenge faced by the research on the relationship between the environmental pollution and the health risk in China. Besides, it introduces the layout, positioning and projects fund status of the National Natural Science Foundation of Major Research Plan - Toxicology and Health Effects of Atmospheric Fine Particulate Matte. At the same time, this book invites experts in the field to discuss the source, evolution and screening of toxic components of fine particulate matter in the atmosphere, exposure group of fine particulate matter, epidemiological study of health hazards of fine particulate matter, molecular toxicology of fine particulate matter components and health hazard mechanism and so on.

        Survey Report on Chinese Lakes

by Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences

This book records the distribution, water quality, water quantity and biological resources of the main freshwater lakes in China in a systematic and detailed way, which enriches the basic data of the study of limnology in China. The results of resource and environment data can provide basic data support for scientific research, rational utilization and protection of lake resources and regional sustainable development in China. The obtained lake water quantity survey information can provide data support for regional water resources assessment and flood control and waterlogging control.   Table of Contents   Preface Section I Overview of the Lake District Chapter 1 The Current Situation of Lakes in China Chapter 2 Lakes in the Eastern Region Chapter 3 Lakes in Northeast China Chapter 4 Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau Lakes Chapter 5 Mengxin and Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Lakes Chapter 6 Utilization and Protection of Lakes in China Section II Main Lakes of the Lakes Districts Chapter 7 Eastern Region Chapter 8 The Northeast Region Chapter 9 Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau Chapter 10 Mengxin and Qinghai-Tibet Plateau

        Remote Sensing of the Cryosphere

        by LI Xin et al.

This book introduces the content of the remote sensing of cryosphere from three aspects: the principles of the remote sensing of cryosphere, the remote sensing monitoring methods and technologies of various elements of cryosphere, and the cryosphere information system. Chapter 1is an overview of the remote sensing of cryosphere. It mainly introduces the definition and development history of the remote sensing of cryosphere, as well as the existing remote sensing platforms and sensors for cryosphere monitoring. Chapter 2introduces the principles of the remote sensing of cryosphere according to different types of remote sensing, including visible light remote sensing, active and passive microwave remote sensing, lidar remote sensing and other different remote sensing modes. Chapter 3~ 5 describe the principles and methods of land cryosphere remote sensing, ocean cryosphere remote sensing and atmospheric cryosphere remote sensing respectively, and gives corresponding research cases. Chapter 6summarizes the application of the remote sensing of cryosphere from two aspects of cryosphere data assimilation and cryosphere information system.   Table of Contents   Preface Chapter 1 Introduction Chapter 2 Principles of the Remote Sensing of Cryosphere Chapter 3 The Remote Sensing of Terrestrial Cryosphere Chapter 4 The Remote Sensing of Ocean Cryosphere Chapter 5 The Remote Sensing of Atmospheric Cryosphere Chapter 6 Cryosphere Data Assimilation and Cryosphere Information System Reference

        Cryosphere Disaster

        by WEN Jiahong et al.

Cryosphere disaster is an important constraint to the sustainable development of the cryosphere. Reducing the risk of the cryosphere disaster and reducing the huge loss and impact caused by the disaster is the key to ensure the cryosphere function and the safety and sustainable development of the residents’ lives and property in the affected areas. Based on the authors’ accumulation of teaching and scientific research in this field for many years, combined with domestic and international forefront theories and practices in this field, the main contents of this book include the basic concepts of cryosphere disasters, theories and methods, the basic methods of cryosphere disaster risk analysis, cryosphere disaster types, time and space distribution, climate change and the cryosphere disasters, land cryosphere disasters, sea cryosphere and atmospheric cryosphere of hazard cause, influences and methods of control, as well as the cryosphere disaster risk management, and so on.   Table of Contents   Preface Chapter 1 Introduction Chapter 2 Research Methods of Cryosphere Disaster Chapter 3 Cryosphere Disasters and Their Effects Chapter 4 Terrestrial Cryosphere Disaster Chapter 5 Marine Cryosphere Disasters Chapter 6 Atmospheric Cryosphere Disasters Chapter 7 Cryosphere Disaster Risk Management References
