        The picture album titled Precious Deposits, by means of over seven hundred pieces of precious cultural relics, introduces the history and culture of Tibet which developred from the Paleolithic Age to the 1940s. It covers politics, military affairs, religions, science, technology, culture, arts, trade and business, transportation, social life, etc. It is divided into two volumes in terms of different periods of social development. Volume One covers the Prehistoric Age, Tubo Period, the Period of Separatist Regimes and Yan Dynasty. Volume Two focuses on Ming Dynasty, Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. Each volume has many special topics with a brief essay about the important events and cultural features in the related historic period. Thus, readers can have a better understanding of its full view and have a clear line while reading. Cultural relics selected in this picture album leap over several historical periods and are rich in content. Most of them are rarely known and are published for the first time. Besides the introduction to historical, cultural and artistic values, captions on each photo also offer a grat variety of background materials, enriching greatly the contents of general appearance of those photos. In all, this is a set of large picture albums combining academic studies with art work.
