The picture album titled Precious Deposits, by means of over seven hundred pieces of precious cultural relics, introduces the history and culture of Tibet which developred from the Paleolithic Age to the 1940s. It covers politics, military affairs, religions, science, technology, culture, arts, trade and business, transportation, social life, etc. It is divided into two volumes in terms of different periods of social development. Volume One covers the Prehistoric Age, Tubo Period, the Period of Separatist Regimes and Yan Dynasty. Volume Two focuses on Ming Dynasty, Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. Each volume has many special topics with a brief essay about the important events and cultural features in the related historic period. Thus, readers can have a better understanding of its full view and have a clear line while reading.
Cultural relics selected in this picture album leap over several historical periods and are rich in content. Most of them are rarely known and are published for the first time. Besides the introduction to historical, cultural and artistic values, captions on each photo also offer a grat variety of background materials, enriching greatly the contents of general appearance of those photos. In all, this is a set of large picture albums combining academic studies with art work.

Author Biography
Introduction of the main members of the editorial board:
Dawa Tsering was a researcher at the Institute of Contemporary Research of the Tibetan Academy of Social Sciences and now is the director of the China Tibet Project of the World Wildlife Fund. He is the author of Tibetan Traditional Culture and Contemporary Environmental Protection and Introduction to Selected Laws and Regulations of Past Dynasties in Tibet.
Suo Wenqing is a professor, postgraduate tutor, and researcher of the National Culture Palace of Minzu University of China. His main works include The History of Tibetans, The Collection of Archives of the Dalai Lamas Collected in the Qing Palace.
Wangdui is the head and senior reporter of the Tibet Press Station of the Central People's Broadcasting Station. He has participated in news reports on most historical events and major events in Tibet. He has won many honors such as the National Outstanding Journalist and the Model Worker of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television. He is the only reporter who has won the Changjiang Taofen Award in the local reporter station of CCTV.
Yan Zhongyi, a well-known photographer, book designer and publisher in China, is the general consultant of China Art Data Center. His representative works include Dunhuang, Beijing: The Treasures of an Ancient Capital, A Journey into China’s Antiquity: Chinese History in Cultural Relics and so on.
Zong Tongchang, a well-known photographer and an important member of the April Film Society. He is currently a member of the China Photographers Association and the China Cultural Relics Protection Technology Association, and a visiting professor at the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University. His representative works include Tashilhunpo Monastery and Complete Works of Chinese Art.
