Shanka is the king's gardener. He lived in a small house with his wife. One night, unable to sleep, Shanka sat up and looked out of the window, and saw a white elephant was eating grass in the silvery moonlight! Shanka never saw a white elephant before, where was it from? Shanka jumped out of his bed and tiptoed into the garden, grabbed the elephant by the tail and flew up to heaven.

Author Biography
Xiao Mao is a member of the Chinese Writers’ Association. He has published over 60 children’s books, including major works such as Xiao Mao’s Fairytales, The Courier Horse, Cee Cee and The Frog and the Boy. He received Soong Ching Ling Children’s Literature Award, Chen Bochui Children’s Literature Award and so on. His works are appreciated by his readers because of its ‘unrestricted imagination and masculine humour infused with wisdom”. Shishir C. Naik born and brought up in Mumbai, India and still lives there. Passion for the drawing from the childhood made him choose his career path as an artist. He loved to tell stories through the visual arts. Fortunately, he got the chance to work on the first Indian full length animated feature film hanuman. He kept on practicing and trying hard to improve his art skills.
