When reading Lin Xi's essays and looking at her paintings, I always stop to think and feel, using my brains and heart, and that brings me a soft feeling as if seeing a thriving and lushy city from ancient times slowly flowing towards me, along the river of time.

For painter Lin Xi, "Being a child " is not only at the core of retaining our innocence, but also a sharp tool for fighting against an adulthood that inevitably falls into sophistication. In her delicately-written books, a little world has been created, where Lin records the subtle rise and fall in the modern world that are neglected by all.
——Yin Jinan, art history scholar and critic
