Author Biography

Hans Christian Andersen — The tales of this Danish writer have been translated into more than 150 languages and adapted for films, cartoons, and theater. Andersen’s heyday of creativity happened in the second half of the 1830s, when he wrote 156 fairy tales. It was the genre where his artistic talent was the most evident. His tales are closely related to folklore and are very dynamic, humorous, whimsical, and satirical and also reveal the critical social issues of his times.
