Author Biography
ANDREJ E. SKUBIC’s (1967) debut novel Grenki med (Bitter
Honey) won an award in 2000 for best first novel, and it also won the Kresnik Award Prize for best novel of the year. His second novel, Fužinski bluz (Fužine Blues), was nominated in 2001 for the same award, as was its dramatization for SNT Drama in 2005. He wrote a collection of short stories titled Norišnica (Madhouse, 2004). He has also tried his hand at radio plays, having written Kot nebo (Like the Sky, 1993).
TANJA KOMADINA (1976) is one of the most talented authors of the younger generation of Slovenian illustrators. She has illustrated numerous children's books, her illustrations are published in Slovenian children’s magazines, and she is also known as an author of comic books. She has won numerous awards for her work, including the ALUO (University of Design) Award for artistic achievement 2012 and the Golden Pear Award for the comic book Fino kolo in 2015, which has also been included in the White Ravens Catalogue. The illustrations for The Lady with the Hat won the Levstik Award for illustrations in 2017.
