Svetlana Makarovič
is a leading author of young adult and adult literature.
She is the recipient of numerous Slovene and international awards.
Her works for young adults have become part of modern classics and the young adult canon, and occupy a special place in the history of Slovene young adult literature.
She is a distinguished writer, poet, illustrator, singer and composer.
Svetlana Makarovič has one of the most extensive bibliographies of any Slovene writer, with nearly 400 book titles to her name.
Jelka Reichman
is a Slovene painter and illustrator. Her colourful illustrations exude kindness, good-heartedness, and serenity, and open up the doors to a world of imagination, beauty, and timelessness.
Her exceptional opus includes over 200 book projects and more that 2.2 million individual books in various editions. She has been the recipient of numerous awards for her work: the Hinko Smrekar Lifetime Achievement Award (2002), the
Levstik Lifetime Achievement Award (2005), the Župančič Lifetime Achievement Award (2008), and others.
