Author Biography

Tang Sulan, born in Ningxiang, Hunan Province, is a member of the Chinese Writers' Association, Vice-Chairman of China Association for Promoting Democracy in Hunan Province, and Professor at Hunan Normal University. Her famous long fairy stories include Little Duoduo and Archimage, The Little Witch Zhen Meili, Spirits in Penthouse, Miracle Garden, Time’s Arrow, and I Am a Clownfish. The Series of Clumsy-wolf has been a most welcomed bestseller for more than 20 years and the Clumsy-wolf that Tang created has become a classical and original fairy tale character with a Chinese background. Young readers therefore gave her a endearing nickname “Mama of Clumsywolf”. As a new-time representative writer of children’s literature in China, Tang Sulan has won many prizes and honors in China, including the 1st and 2nd Zhang Tianyi Prize for Children’s Literature, the 7th Chen Bochui Prize for Children’s Literature, the Bing Xin Prize for Children’s Literature, the 5th and 8th National Prize for Excellent Children’s Literature, the Youth Literature Prize in Hunan Province, the Mao Zedong Literature Prize, and the Hunan Government Top-grade Merit Citation Award.
