Poema de Chile (Poem from Chile)
by Gabriela Mistral
Description
The Poem of Chile is one of the works to which Gabriela Mistral devoted the most time. In it, the poet meets the country she left when she left Chile and approaches its essence, writing about the relationship between nature and the cultures that inhabit it.
There are 131 poems that complete the journey from north to south and the story of the three characters who discover Chile: an indiecito, a huemul and the ghost. In an attempt to broaden the spectrum of Mistral's work, this edition includes 54 poems that were not found in the 1967 edition and that were rescued from among his manuscripts after the death of his albacea Doris Dana in 2006.
