Description
Living with one or more dogs is a blessing, that much we know. But when they grow old, suddenly we find ourselves in an altered, new kind of relationship to them. The connection with the old dog becomes deeper, and the awareness that at some point we will have to say goodbye to each other makes us especially enjoy every moment of our time together. This book answers the questions that inevitably arise when your four-legged companion grows old. It shows how to adapt to the senior's changing needs and provide a loving and safe home. Dog owners will learn how care and occupation can be age-appropriate and what it takes to keep them healthy for as long as possible. In addition to practical instructions and helpful tips, the author and other dog owners are sharing some of their stories about their lives with elder dogs. These stories raise awareness of how valuable this time can be also for yourself as the human. Readers of this book will learn how to deepen the connection with their unique life companion and thus become true soulmates.
