David Smith - 44 years at CABI currently Director of Biological Resources with a long history of managing a living fungal collection; developing and managing projects on conservation and use of microorganisms having presented over 150 conference papers and 180 publications including 2 books and 25 book chapters; Matt J Ryan is the Curator of the CABI living collection which incorporates the UK National Collection of Fungus Cultures. He manages the general operations and research programmes of the collection and he shares his expert knowledge of cryopreservation, pure and applied mycology, biodeterioration and natural product research.; Senior Molecular Microbiologist (and Biochemist) specializes in applied microbiology and molecular biology of fungi, bacteria and nematodes (including systematics, phylogenetics, biomics, DNA extraction techniques & PCR methodology). He is a taxonomic specialist for fungi (including moulds, yeasts and oomycetes) and bacteria within CABI'?s ISO
