Yang Yongqing (1927-2011) was a leading figure in Chinese comic strips painting and an outstanding Chinese painter and printmaker. During his lifetime, he has created 52 comic strips, thousands of book illustrations, and more than 20 books published overseas. His paintings are known for their traditional themes, beautiful lines, exquisite compositions, evocative characters, and a strong classical Chinese atmosphere.
