Author Biography

Lin Handa, born on February 17, 1900, is a deputy to the National People's Congress. He is the Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy and a deputy to the National People's Congress. After the founding of China, he served as professor and provost of Yanjing University, director of the Department of Social Education of the Ministry of Education, deputy director of the Central Literacy Eradication Working Committee, member of the Chinese Character Reform Committee, deputy minister of education, and deputy to the first to third sessions of the National People's Congress. He is the author of The Organization of Chinese Pinyin Characters, Five Thousand Years Up and Down, A New Compilation of Stories from the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, and A New Compilation of Stories from the Early and Late Han Dynasties.
