Do Not Disturb, I'm Drawing!
A Journey of Self-Development Through Lines and Doodles
by Michal Bogin
Description
Do Not Disturb, I’m Drawing is a study of the development and significance of children’s drawings between the ages of a year and a half and six. Written in language anyone can understand, Do Not Disturb exposes the reader to the inner intrigues of children’s drawings.
This book unravels the stages of the motor and emotional development of children’s drawings, and the connection between them, generating in any reader a new interest in observing children’s drawings, and providing the tools for understanding a child’s emotional world.
This book suggests a new method of observing young artists – with curiosity, enthusiasm, acceptance, and excitement. This method will grant a child validation of being loved and understood, and increase his or her desire for creation, self-expression and communication.
It is an important tool for every parent who wants to raise a child who can communicate with the world openly, and with confidence.

Reviews
“When I first opened the book I discovered a magical world of colors and shapes. Later on, when I started reading the book more in depth, I realized how all the shapes and colors tell the story of the development of the child's inner world. As a lecturer at Lesley College, I have warmly recommended it to all of my Art Therapy students. I fell in love with the book and I highly recommend it.”
Shevy Medzini, Art therapist psychotherapist -Senior lecturer at The Academic College of Society and the Arts
“Reading this book has forever changed the way in which I observe my child’s drawings. I enjoy observing his creation with wonder and understand how his inner world is growing and blossoming. These doodles now are so full of meaning, and that is a very exciting thing for me.”
Ana Ben Shabat, mother of a three-year-old toddler
“I am so impressed by this book. I wanted to express my gratitude and appreciation for the huge effort invested in this book, for the wonderful idea, for the creativity, and for its light and approachable style. I never thought there could be a connection between children’s early drawings and adults’ drawings during their therapy sessions. It is a really great idea, well done!”
