Author Biography

Erma Pawitasari studied women's fiqh since 1995. Her interest in the world of women had arisen long before when she had watched or read stories of women's grief. She had glanced at feminism as a solution to women's problems. Her introduction to the concept of Islamic concepts motivated her to study religion intensively. She also worked on "Artificial Intelligence-Based Inheritance System" in her thesis (2000), as a merger of the two disciplines he studied: Islam and IT.

After S1 from Informatics Engineering Surabaya Technical Institute, Erma followed her husband to the United States. There, she studied educational technology at the School of Education, Boston University. After returning from America, Erma worked as a consultant and educational trainer at the Surya Institute, under Prof. Yohanes Surya, before concentrating on Islamic education. Erma coached the Education Consultation Rubric at the Suara Islam Magazine from 2008 to 2014.

Currently, Erma has to divide her time between family, writing, teaching, and some of the businesses she is developing. Periodically, she writes/becomes a resource person in national mass media, such as TVRI's Indahnya Pagi & Serambi Islami program, Islamia Republika, Gontor Magazine, and local radio / TV. This woman with 1 daughter and 2 sons admitted that her main job remains as a wife and mother. Writing and teaching are social activities, while business is a side job.
