Author Biography

Anna Khromova (b. 1982 in Kyiv) is a poet, writer and translator and a mother of two sons. In 2008, she moved to Israel and lives in Netania. She contributed to the Jazz Trio poetry anthology (Kyiv: Port-Royal, 2005), AZ, two, three... twelve - a letter in a bottle: an anthology of the author living abroad (Lviv: LA Piramida, 2010), Crumb: an anthology of modern Ukrainian taste poetry (Kharkiv: Folio, 2012), as well as The Frontier: 28 Contemporary Ukrainian Poets. An Anthology (Glagoslav, 2017) translated by A. Kudryavtskyi. She wrote the children's books A Coin (Bratske, 2015), Dino's Breakfast (Chimalecha, 2017), The Most Tenacious Orange Pants (Chimalecha, 2017), Shoo, Dragon! (Ranok, 2017), Titepetl is angry (Ranok, 2018, available in our catalogue), Cosmic Agents Against the Cheese Monster (Ranok, 2019), and A Sage Sat in the Garden" (Portal, 2020). She also contributed to short prose collections Chat for Girls (VSL, 2016), Glasses and a Dwarf Rabbit (Bratske, 2018), and She Did It (Publishing House, 2018). She translated The War is a Crying Thing by Tirza Atar from Hebrew (VSL, 2015) and Julia Donaldson’s books The Detective Dog (Chitarium, 2018) and The Smeds and the Smoos (Chitarium, 2020) from English. Anna’s works have been translated into English, Hebrew, Polish, and Russian.

Anna Sarvira is an illustrator and a co-founder of the Pictoric illustrator club. She mostly illustrates children’s books and magazines. She took part in many exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad. She is the winner of the COW International Design Festival and currently lives in Kyiv, Ukraine.
