Hello and welcome to my presentation! I am Uwe Mayer, freelance Illustrator, author, designer and now also publisher of my children's picture book „DIE LAUFMASCHINE“, or in the English translation: “The Bicycling Baron". The book playfully tells the story of the invention of the bicycle from the very start. As a subject long overdue, it is original, based on fact and yet told in a humorous and original format with great illustrations throughout. DIE LAUFMASCHINE won the 1st prize from the State of Baden-Württemberg (Germany) for its original idea & concept in 2017. With further funding I was in the lucky position to not only create this important book project, but also publish it in 2019. Die Laufmaschine was nominated by the STIFTUNG BUCHKUNST for “Most Beautiful German Books" („Die Schönsten Deutschen Bücher“), Long List 2019. For this title I am offering foreign rights.

Pinter & Martin was founded on May 9th, 1997 by the writer and film-maker Martin Wagner and childbirth educator Maria Pinter, when we realised that Stanley Milgram's extraordinary book Obedience to Authority was out of print in the UK. Fagervik forlag was founded in 2019 - with the sole purpose of publishing Lene Lauritsen Kjølners novels about the funny private detective Olivia Henriksen - and other projects that might pop up from this author. The latest addition beeing the first book in the feelgood-series about Petra Pettersen. "Petra Pettersens perfect plan - eight weeks till Christmas". Obviously a christmas novel, and not crime this time. Lene is currently working on Olivia 8 - due to be published in june 2021. The author are from - and lives - in the archipelago in southern Norway, and all her novels take place in beautiful, idyllic surroundings - but with a twist, lots of humour and only one litte murder in each book. Petra has not yet experienced anything bloody - just a complicated love life...
