        Victorina Press was created by  Consuelo Rivera-Fuentes, a Chilean-British writer and academic. We are therefore rooted strongly in Chilean and British cultures. Our mission is to publish inspirational, quality books in the spirit of bibliodiversity, a concept developed by a group of Chilean independent publishers — Editores independientes de Chile. It encourages the celebration of a variety of voices from all over the world and prevents our publishing world from being a monolithic culture. Everyone has a story to tell. We want to be the ones to tell it. Consuelo’s Latin American roots play a huge role in our publishing today, with many of our books being translated into Spanish as stand alone or bilingual publications. Publishing everything from hard-hitting, inspirational memoirs, thrilling YA dystopias, gripping historical fiction, fun early learning, colourful, exciting children's books, literature for the classic shelf, and poetry to entice you, there is one book for every genre!

        Mozart and the Wolf Gang

        By Anthony Burgess

        by Alan Shockley

        Written in 1991 to commemorate the bicentennial of Mozart's death, Burgess's novella-length piece is a compendium of themes, genres and even art-forms revolving around the one central preoccupation of the entire Burgess oeuvre: the reconcilability of life and art. This is a kaleidoscope of a book, which stretches even the bounds of even Anthony Burgess's fiction in an attempt to understand Mozart through celestial dialogue, an opera libretto, and fragments of a film script. As gracefully witty as it is daringly experimental, Mozart and the Wolf Gang is one of Burgess's late, great works, often overlooked due to its experimental form, which nevertheless remains accessible, entertaining and yet refreshingly original to this day. This new critical edition with analysis from noted musicologist and a first-class literary critic Alan Shockley enables this work's significance within the fields of literary modernism, fictional biography, and fiction about music, to be assessed by a new generation of readers and scholars.

        by David Myles Robinson

        Some Honolulu lawyers called Pancho McMartin the best criminal defense attorney in the islands. He'd admit to being pretty damn good. But he was on a losing streak now―three guilty verdicts in a row―and his confidence was sinking fast. When one of his oldest friends, Giselle, was left comatose after surgery and her husband, Manny, pleaded with him to sue the doctors involved, Pancho couldn't find a way to avoid a new specialty: medical malpractice.But it wasn't long before the sudden death of one of the defendants―and a murder charge accusing Manny of being the killer―had Pancho back in the old familiar arena of fighting for his client's life, while at the same time seeking justice for the O.R. errors that had left Giselle in a permanent vegetative state.In Tropical Doubts, the third legal thriller from David Myles Robinson featuring colorful, fast-thinking Pancho McMartin, medical hijinks merge with murder as surprise twists build in this unpredictable courtroom drama.

        Subversive Spinoza

        Antonio Negri

        by Timothy S. Murphy, Gerard Greenway, Michael Hardt, Edward Stolze, Charles T. Wolfe

        In Subversive Spinoza, Antonio Negri spells out the philosophical credo that inspired his radical renewal of Marxism and his compelling analysis of the modern state and the global economy by means of an inspiring reading of the challenging metaphysics of the seventeenth-century Dutch-Jewish philosopher Spinoza. For Negri, Spinoza's philosophy has never been more relevant than it is today to debates over individuality and community, democracy and resistance, and modernity and postmodernity. This collection of essays extends, clarifies and revises the argument of Negri's influential 1981 book 'The Savage Anomaly: The Power of Spinoza's Metaphysics and Politics' and links it directly to his recent work on constituent power, time and empire. ;

        by Rainald Goetz, Gertrud Kolmar, Einar Schleef, Botho Strauß, Robert Wolf

        Kritik in Festung von Rainald Goetz spielt im Theater und untersucht, maskiert als Familienstück, die Rolle der Sprache und das, was sich dahinter verbirgt.Die Protagonistin in Gertrud Kolmars Möblierte Dame kommt aus gutem Hause und war früher als Buchhalterin die rechte Hand des Chefs. Nun, als ältere Dame, wohnt sie - im Berlin zwischen den Kriegen - möbliert: gegen Mithilfe im Haushalt. Aber das hat ihrem Selbstwertgefühl keinen Abbruch getan, denn sie weiß ihre Interessen zu wahren. Drei Alte tanzen Tango ist die Fortsetzung von Totentrompeten, in der Einar Schleef die Geschichte der DDR anhand der Geschichte dreier alter Frauen in Sangerhausen erzählt.Ossis, Wessis, Designer-Typen, Pseudo-Künstler, Halbintellektuelle, Erfolgreiche und Gescheiterte, in Botho Strauß' Die Ähnlichen zieht ein Panorama von Zeitgeist-Porträts an uns vorüber, wieder und wieder wird in jene Leerstelle hineingeleuchtet, in jenen Riß, der durch den modernen Menschen geht.Mit Hilfe des Präparats Zyankali 2000 in Robert Wolfs gleichnamigem Stück hat ein ganzes Volk kollektiv Selbstmord begangen. Nur ein paar Randexistenzen sind zum Weiterleben verdammt - während die einen um die letzten Reste des erlösenden Gutes kämpfen, wollen die anderen ein ›neues Volk‹ gründen.
