        Réquiem por un Campesino Español

        by Ramon J. Sender, Patricia McDermott

        "equiem per un campesino espanol" was first published under the title Mosen Millan in Coleccion Aquelarre,Mexico, 1953. The present text follows the first Spanish edition published by Destino, Barcelona, 1974, which bears a few minor variants, mainly in paragraph structure. It has been reprinted a number of times and translated into many languages and is one of the most widely read Spanish texts in the 20th century. This edition is aimed primarily at sixth-formers and university undergraduates and the introduction and notes have been compiled in the light of recent socio-politial topic-based syllabuses and communication studies courses. The inclusion in the introduction of a substantial section on the now out-of-print "Contraataque" (1937), the wartime narrative which contains the germ of the post-war novel, is intended to provide the student with a context for the study of the process in Sender's writing inspired by the Civil War - from explicit militant propaganda penned in the heat of battle to implicit poetic parable, historical emotion recollected in the comparative tranquillity and distance of exile. It is hoped that such a juxtaposition will illuminate both the content and literary achievement of "Requiem". ;

        Frühlingssonate

        Memoiren des Marqués de Bradomín. Spanische Bibliothek

        by Ramón Valle-Inclán, Anneliese Botond

        Als junger Mann wird Marqués de Bradomín auf Weisung des Papstes an den florentinischen Hof Liguras entsandt. Der Herr der Stadt soll aus seinen Händen den Kardinalshut empfangen. Doch der Empfänger liegt im Sterben, und als Marqués de Bradomín die älteste der fünf bildhübschen Töchter der Fürstin erblickt, ändern sich seine Pläne. Die Verführung María Rosarios, längst dem Kloster versprochen, nimmt seinen Lauf. Doch sein Geschick, sein Wille, das Spiel mit Schuld und Imagination kostet ein Opfer, das nicht wiedergutzumachen ist. Vier den Jahreszeiten gewidmete Kurzromane schrieb Ramón del Valle-Inclán zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhundert als zentrale Figur des Modernismo, Frühlingssonate der bekannteste. In melancholischer, die feinste Schwingung, Regung, Alteration vermittelnder Sprache verwandelt er den Don-Juan-Mythos in einen Urtext der der spanischen Moderne.

It has made impact on the human lives, national economies, people migration, restriction on human movement and political turbulences in several nation around the world with the emergence of Covid-19, a human virus as an invasive species. Like human quarantine, the subject of plant quarantine is also an important subject in the plant and food securities around the world. The recent attack of locust in Sub-Saharan region upto Indian continent has impacted the agriculture due to this invasive alien species. Several examples of diseases and pest threats are encountered the agricultural crop production, bioversity and ecological environment of the region. Plant quarantine regulations in different regions of the world helps to save the damage from such invasive alien species. The sudden emergence of plant pathogen including viruses may surprise the common and government establishments. Therefore, knowledge on subject of plant quarantine in context to invasive alien species is atmost important issue. The basic aim of this manual is to provide useful resource materials for training young students and faculties working in the area of plant systematics. The manual provides updated information on basic as well as applied aspects of plant systematics on various groups of plants like Algae, Lichens, Bryophytes, Pteridophytes, Gymnosperms and Angiosperms. 1 to 3 describe the various approaches and methods to study microbial and fungal diversity, which is basically a very useful precursor to the students and young researchers. 4 and 5 provide deals with the multi-dimensional approaches in Lichen systematics. The book progresses upwards through the plethora of information on the diversity and systematics of Algae, Bryophytes, Pteridophytes and Gymnosperms ( 6-10). 11 to 15 contain on the plant methodological details identification, approaches and methods of Flora, revision, monograph and development of herbarium. This information is very important for the students and young faculties who intend to pursue their researches in plant taxonomy. 14 and 15 particularly provide all the relevant information on the International Code of Plant nomenclature including cultivated plants. These s per se are very significant for the amateur as well as serious readers of plant taxonomy. Plant taxonomy and biosystematics is a dynamic subject, as it derives information from various other disciplines like palynology, seed morphology, pharmacognosy, molecular biology, etc. We have, therefore, broaden the scope of this book by including the s on palynology, seed morphology, molecular systematics, biostatistics, ecological and remote sensing methods for diversity analyses, and pharmacognostical tools for identification of herbal drugs ( 16-22). The knowledge and information on these applied aspects of biology in relation to taxonomy will certainly infuse the interest in readers, who are pursuing plant taxonomy as their scientific pursuits. 23 and 24 describe the various methods of characterization and evaluation of ornamental and medicinal plants. The last (25) of the book provides the information about CSIR-NBRI Botanic Garden and its various repositories, which could be of great interest to the readers from the perspectives of plant conservation.

        Miau

        Roman

        by Benito Pérez Galdós, Wilhelm Muster, Rafael Vega

        Jahrbuch Menschenrechte 2008

        Themenschwerpunkt: Sklaverei heute

        Practical Plant Nematology

        by Rosa H. Manzanilla-López, David J Hunt, Nahum Marbán-Mendoza, Said Infante-Gil

        Plant-parasitic nematodes are responsible for an estimated annual loss of US$100 billion worth of commodity, staple and industrial crops worldwide. With global changes in temperature, it is likely that this figure will increase as nematode pests thrive in previously unsuitable areas and increase their reproductive rate. Correct identification is essential in understanding nematode diversity and enabling management and control. Since the first edition of this book was published in 2012 (Mundiprensa, Mexico), advances in molecular techniques have transformed methods of studying and identifying species and proven helpful for disentangling species complexes. However, nematode crop damage can still be difficult to assess due to a lack of expertise (especially taxonomy) in making accurate diagnosis, and a lack of nematology courses and training within crop protection. This book addresses the need for a practical foundation course, and covers: · Biology, morphology, taxonomy and practical aspects of symptomatology, sampling, preparation and identification of nematodes using both classical and molecular approaches · Taxonomy, diversity and bionomics (e.g. biology, ecology, management) of the most economically important plant-parasitic nematode groups · Ecology (nematodes as bioindicators), biochemical and molecular processes involved in plant-nematode interactions, integrated pest management, quarantine issues, knowledge dissemination aspects and statistics This is an introductory text in practical nematology aimed at students of agronomy, biology, extension, phytosanitation and professionals involved in crop protection and plant disease diagnostics.
